I swear to god nothing is making any sense in this drama but somehow is still enjoyable. You just need to turn your brain off. Even though i like it i, feel like they are wasting good actors. Especially Ji Chang Wook. There are not many action-actors that can pull off romance as well.
Well some people like it. Like me, I like it. haha
i've seen i t yeah. To be honest i didnt like it at all. I mean the actors are great, the comedy is good, the romance is cute but the thriller part was terribly written. How am i suppose to enjoy the cute scenes when in the next scene there is someone locking women in a basemen? Maybe thats just me, but i tend to be in certain moods when i watch something and i cant easily change my mood from watching comething cute to something disturbing or evil.
Well some people like it. Like me, I like it. haha
Ofc some people will like it and to be honest even if i dont believe that those genres are compatible i could still like it if it was well written. Its just that there is not a single rom-com thriller that is well written. Maybe this show will be the exception.
So in other words you say that men have to be narcissists, egotists and greedy or else they are just normal guys.…
So you say there are two types of men out there. First type has charisma and power and they are intresting. Second type they are nice, dumb cutipies that they are boring. What a statement... i have to say. Anyway, no point continuing this conversation. The moment you said that its not a matter of taste you lost every credibility you may had. You are either trolling or you are just too young and clueless.
So in other words you say that men have to be narcissists, egotists and greedy or else they are just normal guys.…
I got what you said in the first place its just that i dont agree with your statement. What do u mean it will get boring? Boredom has no universal numbers. What you find boring i can find it intresting and reverse. Everyone has different taste in the first place.
The only reason i am saying this is because the phrase "no matter how nice the guys are if they lack charisma/power they are just onother guy out there" is shallow and childish. Anyway, i guess everyone has their own beliefs.
I see it as a matter of Alpha male VS. Beta male! usually the second lead is a beta male while the first lead…
So in other words you say that men have to be narcissists, egotists and greedy or else they are just normal guys. Well everyone has their own beliefs but imagine if i said something like: "No matter how nice a girl is if she lacks the looks and a great body then she is just onother girl out there". I really do respect your opinion but i like living in a world with nicer people and your point of view doesent help. Already many guys think they need to act like apes to "get the girl" and thats sad.
i agree as well that most of the time second male leads are selfish and childish but my point of view is a bit more extreme. i dont get at all the purpose of second leads being a male or a female. How does that making the drama any better? And most of the time the love of the second leads about the mains is out of nowhere and unatural. I am not 18 years old anymore so i need a good reason before someone falls in love with onother person and not just the cliche "he/she is good looking".
I agree with your points. The drama it's not perfect, but in general it's good and the romance between HSY and…
I agree that Tong Nian is courageous but at the same time she is crossing the line sometimes. Courage is something u need in life but i prefear wisdom and cleverness. One of the biggest disappoints for me was Wu Bai. I mean in the end we learn almost nothing about him.
P.S. I believe that most of the people are courageous on their own way. So, i am pretty sure u have enough courage in you already!
This drama is a light watch with almost a little bit of everything. Some parts are boring but most of the show is pretty intresting, especially the strong bonds between the characters and the strive to be at the top. I really enjoyed it overall but it has many flaws that i would like to list.
1. The way Tong Nian fell for HSY was pretty childish and not convincing(maybe her age can justify it ) 2. Tong Nian is suppose to be really smart but apart from some episodes mostly in the start she never displays her skills in any way that she can convince us that she is really smart. I mean Horoscopes? Really? 3. This one is the most serious flaw in my opinion. The way they treat the characters and the fact that there is not a good development after so many episodes except HSY and Mi Shao Fei. Like, without a reason characters just disappear and after some time they are back again. Personally i like when a character feels genuine and is not there just to develope a plot.
I could least some more but i dont wanna spoil and as i said earlier i really enjoyed the show. Its just the potential was huge with one and at the end of the day it was just good.
Just finished rewatching the show. There are some nice life lessons in this one and the strongest for me was always to try to communicate with the others and make your points clear. Misunderstandings happen when u assume things and u are not willing to listen or u are not willing to convey a clear message.
The show have a lot of cliches but those parts were done right. The chemistry between the leads is really good as well. The only thing that made this show average is the second leads and especially the male one. Like, what an obnoxious and unethical human being. Trying to go after your mentors ex-wife is terrible and sick. The moment he knew the truth he should have acted like a decent human being and try to get over her. I may sound a bit harsh but there is a code between men and i like keeping in that way.
I think there is more negativity than usual because the drama is overrated. It's not that it's actually that bad,…
The thing with this drama is that the kidnapper plot was messy and unnesessary. The chemistry was great, the actors did an amazing job and the comedy was on point. But how am i suppose to enjoy the cute moments whith this disturbing plot. Not to say how rediculous they made the cops .
The most non-realistic k-drama trope for me is the second leads and especially the fact that they have perfect personalities. Its not only non-realistic, its annoying as well.
Just finished the show after a marathon and i have to say i am confused whether i like it or not. It started off really well and the main focus was about Lee An training his ability and how the story of the two main leads will unfold, but after the first 8 episodes the main focus shifted to Kang Sung Mo and the story suddenly became more dark and more cruel. It felt rushed and out of the blue. To make that even worst they had Eun Ji Soo die like that.
Actually you know what... the plot was really good and somehow unique for a k-drama. The thing is that i cant stop feeling betrayed. They had the characters, they had the plot, but they forced genres that they cant co-exist if you want to have a massive plot twist and moster-like characters like in this drama. How am i suppose to be happy for the main leads when out of the blue and in the most stupid way Ji Soo dies and Kang Mo, after the character development he went through(or you tought he went through), he is nothing but a monster. I didnt sing up for a tragedy, since i saw the comedy, romance tag.
i feel like he will have a romance line with the girl interested in ryan!
Ikr! What confused me the most is that in the first episodes they established a sibling`s relationship between those two and i was happy cause i thought that at least this drama won`t have a triangle. But i guess i was wrong.
They have already shown a dark and excessive side to the fangirling. I think the message from the drama is about…
They showed an excessive side but they handled it like it was nothing, because apparently Sung Duk Mi could relate with their unhealthy idol-love and they remain unpunished which is not a good message, at least in my eyes. Fangirling is ok, but to not this extent. Listening to your favourite idol is a hobby. Stalking an idol and thinking that the idol belongs to you and that he cant have a personal life is not a hobby nor just a simple flaw. We are talking about serious phycological issues here.
i feel like he will have a romance line with the girl interested in ryan!
I have this feeling as well but that doesent make it any better. Eun Gi should had stayed as a big brother and not as a potential lover. Its disturbing even if they are not blood related.
This drama is ligh-hearted, romantic, funny and enjoyable. Even if its not something that special in terms of plot the actors are puting an amazing performance and the main couple have one of the greatest chemistries ive ever saw in a K-drama and ive already seen healer. But in my opinion there are some things that keep this good drama from being great.
Lets start with Eun Gi. Well, sorry but he has no reason to exist in the drama. He offers nothing. He had potential. He could have beed his real brother or a childhood friend and he could have his own romance with another girl (that way you have 1 main romance story and a sub-romance story and you can make the drama more enjoyable) but NO lets put yet onother triangle. The reason that i am really frustrated about the way they treat his character is because at the first episodes they established a healthy relationship between two siblings and then destroyed it.
Fangirling in that extent it not something healthy and its not something to be tolerated. I dont like the way they treat hardcore fangirling like its something sweet and funny, because its really dangerous. But lets wait and see cause maybe they want to send a message especially with the documentary of Lee seon Joo`s husband.
Last but not least, i like when something is connecting to the past and its like an entangled web that slowly unfolds but i dont see a reason in a romantic, light-hearted drama to be a connection like this. It seems a little forced to me. Like they want the drama to have a deep background.
Her Private Life, as i already said is really enjoyable (untill now) and i recommend it to everyone, but it could have been much more...
Great article! Not too short, not too long and i have to say i completely agree with you. Especially on the reality check. Love triangles may happen in real life as well, but its rare and its not the least like those in dramaland.
Its drama, that single word should be more than enough hint. and that formula of down and out girl meets successful…
I am a guy as well and maybe thats why it bothers me. I know that is all about the target group since every show wanna have higher numbers and its a hard competition. I hope that this trend will last for a while and more and more shows will go towards that trend. I am not saying that i dont enjoy the typical rich guy - poor girl cinderella story. Actually i like those type of stories a lot. But its like eating the same food over and over again. And instead of making it better it gets worse over the years.
Anyway, i like your point of view and i agree with you completely.
