Simply disgusting

I don't even know what to say... I don't care about the fact that the actors are a couple in real life, there is no way to defend any series that infantilizes its protagonist to the point of making her look like a little girl in distress saved by an older, wealthy man. This is a pedophilia apology, plain and simple. Every detail they add to Yang Mie Mie's character, be it a teddy bear or makeup that makes her look much younger, is not casual, it gives her a childish appearance so that sick people can imagine that this is a relationship between an adult and a child but legal, because the actress and the character (supposedly) is of legal age.

I think that discredits any other success that the series may have, although there is nothing to highlight. I find this kind of vertical dramas simply annoying, from the editing, the use of music, and the unnatural performances. It's a stomach-churning waste of time.

Lmao what a sh!tty ending

First of all, the male lead in this series is one of the most attractive men I've ever seen in my life. I need him in ways that are not appropriate to say in this review.

Anyway, this show was garbage, not exactly the fun kind. Fortunately it's short, but as a whole it doesn't work in the least. The story is ridiculously skimpy, a lot of things are left up in the air and unexplained, the characters act like they have no brains but three scripted dialogues written by a poorly paid person.

And then we have that ending that pretends to be poetic when it's just moronic and ridiculous. It reminds me a bit of the ending of The Rainbow in Our Memory but that was a good drama, one of the best C-Dramas I've seen btw. Instead here the outcome is anticlimactic. Far from being emotional it made me laugh because of how stupid it was. No doubt the writers had no idea how to end this garbage and came up with the most ridiculous closure ever.

Anyway Dai Gao Zheng i need you so bad.

One of the worst things I have ever seen

In this nasty Thai drama we see the same thing over and over again throughout 28 episodes. The main character is kidnapped by the villain and rescued by her lover for almost every episode, over and over again with nothing else interesting in between. It's full of red flags, toxic relationships, dysfunctional families and stupid, nonsensical characters. It is an insult to the intelligence of any viewer.

When writers listen to my prayers

Finally, a romantic comedy that feels pure, authentic and doesn't feel compelled to overcomplicate its plot unnecessarily. It's great to see how naturally the story unfolds, how authentic the characters are, and how their “mundane conflicts,” whether it's raising a child as a single parent, having an unresolved childhood trauma, dealing with a work rivalry and feeling like you can't show anything less than perfection in your job. It's all quite believable through the subtle writing and the authentic and sympathetic performances.

I wish writers would learn a thing or two from these stories. I don't want to see stupid plot twists or one-dimensional villains. I want to see adults dealing with adult situations and resolving them like adults. I absolutely loved this cast, both main and supporting.

My kind of hot garbage

This series knows exactly what gay men want to see: hot sex scenes, brainless characters, sexual tension and melodrama. It's not good by any means, but it's entertaining, with adequate length and an excellent cast (all of them provoked deep feelings in me at least once). I can grant that it does a good job of building the tension rather than throwing gratuitous sex in from the get-go. I will watch it several times from the privacy of my room.

Ew

Incest is disgusting, their parents should have kicked them out in the end. Simply a disgusting movie with no value whatsoever and over-the-top, disgusting performances. I don't understand how anyone could find this funny, much less romantic. It was absolute torture. I think it wants to resemble a comic book but for me it is just irritating.

Pretty decent, could have been much better

For the simple story it tells, it has a perfect length. Little more than teenagers being immature in love in a process of self-discovery. Nothing new but it has its charm because the actors are quite natural. I would have wished the gay couple had more weight in the plot. I think it also has a couple of positive lessons for the teen audience.

Tacky and annoying garbage

One of those dramas that seem designed to give me a headache. Whether it's the stupid physical humor, the visually unpleasant effects, or the completely brainless characters. A tv show with no rhythm, grace or charm, neither in its story, nor in its characters. It's exaggeratedly long and overall a waste of time, because in all this wasted fantasy concept it feels like the writers make things up as they go along to drag out the story.

An ugly and despicable drama.

Mixed feelings...

I think overall it's a good story. I thought it would be one of those series that goes on unnecessarily long but it justifies its length of almost 40 episodes quite well. Liang Jie deserves all the applause in the world, what an actress. Chen is a fascinating character, flawed and complex, who navigates not only between how complicated it is to fall in love in exceptional circumstances, but also between guilt, the selfishness of grief and the need to close chapters of her past. She's so good that I almost feel bad for her counterpart, Xing Zhao Lin, who can't keep up with her.

Her character creates several problems for me. I could never empathize with Wang. He genuinely struck me as an insufferable, bullying jerk, no matter how much he excuses himself with Anna sabotaging their relationship. Even understanding the grief she was going through, she acted nonchalant with Chen without giving him his space just because he needed her to heal. Unlike Chen, I can't empathize with Wang's selfishness because it just seems pathetic and possessive to me.

As for Anna, what can I say, she is the typical villain ruined by the stupidity of the writers. Her character goes down the drain with a final twist that tries to give her a redemption arc that feels improvised. I don't think she was worthy of forgiveness and worse, I don't buy her remorse.

I think Dylan would have been a lesser match for Chen, not just because Li Jiu Lin is extremely attractive, but because he's a very noble character in general, and unlike Wang, he did prioritize Chen at all times.

You're telling me I have to feel bad for an idiot who couldn't even defend the girl he loves, who was pregnant by him, from his crazy ex? Big fail by the writers there.

What a shit show

I usually like mafia stories but this was insufferable. No need to make episodes almost two hours long, let alone put a naive girl swinging between two macho cretins who have no idea how to treat a woman with decency. The action scenes are disgustingly bad, the romance is unpleasantly awkward and problematic, and the performances are just laughable.

Degrading fatphobic garbage

This series, like many others, resorts to the stereotype of making humor at the expense of overweight people. They laugh at them and not with them, by making their existence a joke and posing that they are all unhappy, dirty, lonely, bitter and that they only exist either to contemplate their own death or to want to lose a lot of weight, adapt to beauty standards and fall in love with someone attractive.

And I'm not talking about the “being fat is unhealthy” debate, because in any case, being extremely thin isn't either. But it is despicable to see a series bent on the idea that a woman can only be happy if she becomes socially accepted for her beauty. There is never any genuine or interesting reflection on how society pressures women to follow unattainable standards of beauty, never is the necessary message sent that all people deserve dignity and happiness no matter what body they have.

Instead we get stupid humor, exaggerated characters and ridiculous fantasy about the origin of the mystical perfume that makes you lose weight. I also didn't need to see the protagonist's abusive husband for so long.

Melodramatic and occasionally entertaining

These unnecessarily long dramas feel made for the sole purpose of collecting more ratings (and therefore more money) during their broadcast. I wouldn't have a problem if the story was good enough to stretch out for a million episodes, but this drama runs out of ideas too quickly. I do think Han Ji Hye is a great actress and her character arc is compelling. I liked seeing how Eun Dong Joo was learning that her naive and overly kind attitude to the world was detrimental to her well-being. I wish her male counterpart was this interesting, but that's not the case. Lee Sang Woo is attractive, but as an actor he leaves me unsatisfied.

And that brings me to my biggest problem: the female villains. Mother and daughter look like something out of a Latino soap opera (and I consider myself an expert on this being Latino and growing up in a household with women). It could have been camp but it's embarrassing, especially since the length of the series wants to pass off as interesting the hundred or so schemes that mother and daughter have to hurt the protagonist. Their motivations are ridiculous and their plans are even more so. I don't blame the actresses because the problem is from the direction and writing of their characters. They are irritating and despicable not in a good way.

I can't respect villains who don't have an ounce of wit and who constantly make fools of themselves because there is no depth to their existence. Also, the denouement of Sa Bi Na's character was hilarious. I find it incredibly ridiculous that the creators thought the audience would take that ending seriously, feeling any sympathy for her.

Meh

Alex is too strong, I would not have been able to resist sharing the house with so many hot men. It's pretty short, cute but eventually boring stuff. There's not much plot beyond the interactions between the characters and it's pretty obvious who will be the one chosen by the girl in the end. Hwang Bo Reum Byeol has enough charisma to carry the series through to the end, making it worthwhile just to know more about Alex, who is the only interesting character in the story. Well, she and the sexy and mysterious neighbor who seems to be hiding a dark secret although the revelation of his intentions is quite funny.

Different, engaging and ultimately disappointing

There is an effort to make a different story by presenting a female protagonist who is far from being the damsel in distress to be rescued again and again. That makes the romance dynamic different, entertaining, and sympathetic to a certain extent because the lead couple has chemistry. But then the plot is unnecessarily drawn out and I found the twists they present to relate the characters to their past boring. I'm the number one hater of “couples realizing they knew each other from the past” in dramas, and this C-Drama did my disdain for that cliché no favors. The ending was too rushed and the male lead was unconvincing. I loved Li Huan, serving up one of the most iconic bobs I've ever seen.

Cheerful and full of heart

My biggest criticism is its unnecessary length. It is too long for such a simple story and some chapters become ruminative and repetitive. But it's still a charming series. I appreciate the joviality, and how it explores adolescence as a period to make mistakes, suffer disappointments but most of all, to find our way to happiness by being ourselves. I like the performances, especially Joseph Zeng. He has a seductive bad-boy demeanor but with a heart of gold both to his sister (very ungrateful and annoying, by the way) and his friends.
