Someone in the You are my glory comments recommended this drama. YRMG was so good and I can't seem to find anything…
This is a good drama but it's too true to life, heartbreakingly so, to be fluffy.
If you're looking for fluffy, you might want to try Intense Love which is similar to YRMG. You can also try Forever Love, it's not as fluffy but a very sweet puppy-love kind of way about a healthy and mature relationship between a young couple.
The feeling of puppy love, everything so sweet and innocent. Except in this drama, they are actually very mature. They have one of the cutest and healthiest relationships. They talk out their problems like reasonable people, they’re considerate of each other’s feelings, they act more grown-up than most couples in dramaland.
The only thing that’s very unrealistic is the way the drama tried to end by wrapping up everything all nice and sweet. Qin Yue is the groomsman and Shi Ying is the maid of honor, like wtf? Throughout the whole series, Shi Ying has been the most dishonorable senior, doing all those backstabbing things to FL just because she was jealous that Qin Yue likes her. Even if FL forgives her for it, she shouldn’t ask her to be her maid of honor.
How the makeup they use is perfect. Western makeup is to over dramatic anyways and do not match with Asian beauty…
I agree makeup standards are different depending where you are. I do find many of the cdramas' makeup and styling are on point.
But this one really missed the mark. The color palettes, the clothing, everything is too meh. Maybe I've been around fashionistas too much, but the styling here lacked trendy or edgy or classy vibes. It screams budget department store.
Such a good drama. Shan shan deserves a happy ending. She took care of everyone around her, it would've been nice to see her get a happy ending. Although this ending somehow really fit her story's conclusion. The one thing that's kind of strange is that we never get to see her interact with her own family except for that one time. She didn't even get a call from her son on her b-day. Not sure what Xiao Yu meant in the end when she said she'd found someone she could trust her life with? Is she referring to Shan shan as a friend or as a potential partner? Maybe it was lost in the translation, but it was confusing.
The summary sounds like it's a drama about empowerment and personal growth, which is all good. But I can't get over the makeup. Maybe I'm nitpicking but if the drama is centered around the beauty industry, shouldn't they at least have decent makeup? The makeup and styling in this drama is very dated, none of the looks enhanced them. It makes it hard for me to believe these women works in that industry.
Love Shanshan so much. She's such a strong woman and an amazing friend. Love the way she gives advice to them and how selflessly she helps them. But those other woman all need to grow up some.
The housewife, ugh, I feel like shaking her. Her actions doesn't just affect herself, think of the kids. At least with the other three women, if they messed up, it doesn't involve kids. And the intern biach, I hope karma catches up with her big time. Really need to see that.
Just watched ep 14 and I am about to drop this C-drama. Pretty disappointing considering the talent (especially…
Same. I've been skipping through episodes since ep 12. I love ZBB but this drama is lackluster and none of the characters are particularly likable including the leads. Sun Yi doesn't seem to have a lot of range, this character is so similar to her character in Because of You. (I saw it a while back and haven't see her in any other drama, so maybe she's better in others but here she's meh)
This drama is what a lot of bigger budget dramas tried to be and failed at, it’s smart, quirky, fun and entertaining. I had no expectations going in and this turns out to be such a good drama. The pacing is good and there are no draggy parts. Love the characters, there are no idiotic annoying ones…(except maybe the brother, but he eventually catches on)
What do you expect though. She went to work in the palace, she can only get out once a month to see her family.…
I realized she has limited freedom because she's a court lady. But regardless, they're the main leads for a reason. It's their story. I don't mind if they focus a little on the others to flush out their characters, but enough is enough. There are episodes where the leads barely appeared. This is not an ensemble cast drama, there's only two leads with the rest of them supports. The story is getting convoluted and sloppy. Everyone gets screen time but the leads.
This drama is getting so frustrating and annoying to watch. After the first few episodes, there's barely any interaction between the main couple. The bro and the princess gets more screen time together than the leads. While you see the leads with anyone else but with each other. And don't get me started on the third prince and the pirate, it's just wrong on so many levels. There's hardly any character development for the main couple and it feels like the side characters gets more character development than the leads. This drama doesn't have the the gripping storytelling and intrigue of Yanxi Palace, so I was really hoping there's some redemption in showing more of Xu Kai's character. So far it feels almost like Fuca Fuheng all over again. We don't get to see enough of him.
Glad I stuck with it. Dropped it after watching the first episode but the drama keeps popping up in my youtube. So finally decided to give it another try. Turns out to be a cute drama with some good laughs. The pace was okay, not too many draggy moments. FL is likable and the secondary characters are not too annoying either. Even the antagonists had some redeeming qualities. Overall a good drama.
It was a good drama but the last few episodes dragged on way too long. It could've been done in 24 episodes. The ending was very unsatisfying and abrupt. After trudging through, was hoping to see some lighthearted slice of life from their personal life, something that's uplifting. Instead they left an impression of a dull life ahead.
Struggling to finish the last few episodes. Omg the FL is so clueless and selfish that I wanted to slap some sense into her. She has no consideration or concept about the ML's feelings. She really is tstl. The first 10 episodes were okay, she's young and fun, I can get with that. But then things just go down hill from there. Her repeated immaturity and selfishness is too annoying, and the ML becomes even more of a wimpy pathetic guy. So maybe they deserve each other.
Can't get over the FL's weird action. Maybe I'm nitpicking but it really ruins the character for me. Episode 1 starts off nice, looks like it could be a good drama. Then at the bus stop FL notices violin boy and starts making goo-goo eyes at him. I don't get it. He's not the ML (and he's not even good looking, plus this is not a fluffy romance drama), but she's acting like a teenager with a crush and can't stop making eyes at a boy. What's with that?
Stuck in episode 1. It looked like a promising show from the start, but then that moment in the bus when the FL keep staring at that violin boy. Wth is that about? Is she attracted to him or what? So confused by her reaction to him that totally derailed me. Now I can't really continue without thinking she has a thing for the boy.
So far so good, mix of suspense with a bit of romance and humor. It's a nice change from all those romance centered plot lines. Although some episodes really dragged and there's too much office stuff that could've move quicker. 40 episodes is a little too much working on one case, but it's still okay. The only thing I'm worried about is that Ma Shang might not have a good ending. ZBB finally got a good role and I hope he doesn't die in this one, that would really ruin this drama for me. I'm biting my nails and waiting to see what happens in the last ten episodes...
Surprisingly enjoyable. Not usually into this kind of drama but the likable and relatable characters soon drew me in. The pace is a little slow but still worthwhile. One surprising thing about this drama is that the English dubs were one of the better ones I've seen in a cdrama. A lot of the newer dramas try to include some English in it, but the dubs were usually heavily accented and mangled pronunciation. This is the first show where the spoken English sounded like they were actually speaking English, especially when Sophia was speaking. Their mix of English words into their conversations sound natural and not nearly as forced as on some other dramas.
