Wasted potential. The drama started off well but soon got tired and draggy. It can't seem to decide what it wants to be and the palace intrigue took the plot completely off track. FL lost most of her spunk after entering court life. There were not enough good moments between the leads, and the ending was lackluster and unsatisfying.
Ep 26 So this is the thing with Chinese dramas (I presume) - how is it that if there was a passionate night, they…
I think it has more to do with censorship. Although I don't know too much how the censors work for Chinese dramas, but you won't see much nudity here. I think whenever you see the morning after is just a hint or innuendo of what had happened. Did they or didn't they is up to interpretation and you might get more hints later. Sometimes in other show, they might allude to it upfront, sometimes they don't even talk about it until you find out she's pregnant or something like that in later episodes.
So far so good. It's an interesting drama with a good blend of comedy, intrigue and romance. The pace is good and each problem is solved at a timely manner. FL had the right among of cute without being too cutesy. Although the ML could use a little more range in his expression other than that haughty look. I thought he was a little better in Fuyao as the cranky doctor, but we'll see. It's still early in the drama.
This is turning out to be a fun little drama. The main leads are cute together and I like how mature they act. The pace is good and problems are solved reasonably without blowing up into melodrama just for the heck of it. The only things I don't like are the second couple, they're mostly annoying and I end up skipping their scenes. And the music, it drives me batty with how many times they play the same songs over and over again, in every episode, and sometimes it was inappropriate to the scene.
I'm sorry but wtf happened from episode 22 onward?did another scriptwriter takeover? or was the fl brainwashed?…
She's always very immature, from the start, and she hasn't grown at all throughout the drama. What she's doing now repeatedly even after the ML asks her not to do only proves how inconsiderate and immature she really is.
IMO He is kind of guy who doesn't know how to woo a girl.. it's has been the way around.. that why he's pretty…
Maybe it's in another episode, but he hasn't shown up yet and still doesn't know about her grandfather. Yet his mom knows and is at the hospital.
Being considerate is one thing, but if she feels she couldn't bother him cuz of work, then they're not close enough. Otherwise she wouldn't hesitate to call him, just as she would if she had close family members and friends. Her friends are busy people too and they're there.
Something as big as her grandfather going into hospital and needing surgery, regardless of time difference, she would want to talk to him. She would want to be close to the people that care the most. He could give her support over the phone or by text or whatever.
She didn't give him enough consideration or credit. It doesn't seem like she's really seeing him as an actual partner.
Maybe unpopular opinion but the drama is getting really annoying. Watching episode 16 right now. What kind of relationship does ML have with FL that he doesn’t know about her grandfather when even his mom knows? People who love each other share the good times and bad. During all the time FL’s grandfather is in hospital, she only tried once to contact ML and then gave up after one text. It’s not the sign of a loving stable relationship. I didn’t expect much from a fluffy series, had some laughs in the beginning, but it’s getting more and more idiotic. ML seems so useless throughout most of the drama. He can’t seem to get near the girl without the help of his PA, and plays second fiddle to all her friends most of the time. For the lack of a real plot, there are way too many plot devices being used including the other man, the co-worker, etc, which is getting too ridiculous.
I want to watch this show for Ryan Ding but not sure if I should get started since I don't really like shows about silly schoolgirls. (Okay I peeked and saw half of episode 1, and the FL seems really annoying) Anyone can tell me if he ends up with anyone?
are there any good dramas with him? I watched him in li hui xhen but I didn't like the main male lead so I stopped…
He’s good in many different roles, but sadly I haven’t seen him in any ML roles with good ending. In many of them, he gets the crappy storyline or doesn’t get a lot of appearance like in Love O2O, Eternal Love, etc.
Loved Lusi in Tiger and Rose, she's adorable and a good actress. But this show is going too slow. Currently on ep4 and it's already dragging. Nothing's happening except that she's cooking for him a lot. There's not much plot, I might as well go watch Master Chef
The first 12 episodes were promising. But after that it lost focus and became more of a court drama and witch-hunting kinda thing for a few episodes. Another thing that's annoying is the absolute insta-love the ML had for FL. I can understand if he started liking her, but not to the extend of being completely pussy-whipped before they were even in a relationship. All that self sacrificing is just too much to believe. I liked his character at first, but now he's just too beta.
It's like watching paint dry. Everything is dragged out sooooo much. This series had some potential, but all the unnecessary flashbacks and misunderstandings is frustrating. Without the constant flashbacks and the shots of him walking into work and so on, they could've compressed the episodes to 10 easy. The FL seemed spunky in the beginning, but unfortunately she lost most of that within a couple of episodes. She remains mute when faced with accusers and yet gets in the ML's face for reasons just to have drama. And the misunderstanding and drama in the office is laughable and so unrealistic. Only on ep.8 right now, don't know how much longer I can stick to this drama.
Currently on ep10, so far so good. Liked the idea of female Holms, makes me miss Lucy Liu in Elementary. The ML is so handsome, but the FL is meh in both acting and looks. There are some plot holes and inconsistencies but still, it's not a bad drama.
Xu Kai is cute as always and makes the drama enjoyable, only wished he was a badboy for longer than the first few episodes. FL is bland and wooden, can't see why ML falls for her other than that she's the FL.
Good drama with a good cast and storyline.

too bad he's not in more dramas
