I actually really like the misterious plot and enjoying this drama, but Episode 7 and 8 kinda felt all over the place.
Na Ri is just going back and forth between her hometown and Seoul, and the her reasonings behind are kinda ridiculous. That whole coffeeshop scene was a mess tho, but when she rushed back because her ex said Nan Gil looked pale when they met, and everybody was so worried because she haven't drove a car for a while (i mean...), and she was all exhausted and almost swoon when she arrived... like what the heck was this. All the unreasonable drama tho.
Also this sudden lovey-dovey between the leads... like i get that the Pd wanted to create some "calmness before the storm" but it felt so unnatural after all the (cute) love-quarrell they had before. I really enjoyed the progression of their relationship so far but this harsh change made me cringe a bit.
I think they are rushing it a bit all of sudden which don't make any good.
But the end was kinda dope, i was expecting something else behind that secret. :)
When i watched Roommate two years ago, he was one of the few i didn't like in the cast. I can't really describe why, but he was just like... plain? He seemed like he doesn't have much of a personality, and despite he was called a rookie actor, i didn't see any of his acting talent showing in the tasks and plays of the broadcast. Honestly it seemed like he is just there because of his flower-boy face.
I've only watched 4 episodes of Cunning Single Lady, so i can't really tell much about his acting in that one, but i remember clearly that i wasn't impressed.
So when i heard that he will be one of the main in Chese in the Trap i was quite sceptical. And he surprised me in a very positive way, he totally selled me his character in CitT. His acting improved hella lot since 2014 for sure. I'm not saying he is anywhere near being the best or that he has so much talent, but i can see his hard work and improvement. I'm hoping he will got other roles than being the pretty boy, so he can learn more. He is on a good path tho.
Very impressive starting, i haven't expected it to be this strong.
Capable cast, charismatic characters with a good hint of darkness and problems, gripping storyline and loads of BLOOD. I'm in. I'm totally in.
Daaaaaamn, that kiss scene was so beautifully photographed... all the warm rays of backlight in the semidark room, really nice angles, playing with the focus and their silhouettes..gosh, i'm seriously impressed, it was a piece of art.
I looked at this writer's watch list and it's terrible... She gives so low scores... Why would you recommend…
7.5 is low? Wow, thats a new thing i saw here. :D
Its different for everyone oc, but in my interpretation its kinda like what percentage i enjoyed of the drama/movie. If i give 5 it means, i'm pretty conflicted, because as a whole i liked as many things in the drama as i don't, so its 50(+)/50(-). So if you think it like this 75% is pretty high. It means, its not perfect, have some flaws or just nothing really new, but definitely worth watching.
Finally we got a kiss, folks! :DD
A little bit cheesy and long-drawn "before-kiss" scene for my taste, but whatever, the feelz were there!
Altho i really enjoyed almost every part of ep10, i just can't get over that major fact, that they want to build this whole kill-him-plan upon a man who has PTSS and its known that he can't kill people. (I know that he is heated by revenge, but it doesn't mean he can overcome his psychological issue.)
When Choi Yoo Jin persuaded him in the previous episode that its more effective to destroy Park Gwan Soo's career rather than actually kill him, i thought that "Finally, somebody has an actual brain."
Now back again with this nonsense.
Ep9 was fine! Finally see some progression on Yoona's acting, i guess she just can't really pull of the melacholic aspect of her character? She's doing much better in this episode, like if she is loosening up a bit with her acting. Go on, girl, go on :)
I have no problem with the romance tho, its only a 16eps drama and even an action one, romance tend to be a little groundless (and rushed) in those. Its okay for now, a little bit clumsy, but developing nicely. We are already halfway, i think the progression is pretty reasonable so far.
Okay, so its kinda getting ridiculous how they attempt to kill some of the (mayor) characters in almost every single episode.
- "Is he saw something?" Kill him.
- "Are you hate him that much?" Its okay, just kill him.
- "We want her money, but she don't wanna give it" No problem, just kill her.
- "Will she say something?" We don't know, but just to be sure, kill her, okay?
- "Ummm, we have some probl...." KILL IIIIIT!
Like, why are these famous political people just casually order to kill other people/each other like if they just ordering a frickin pizza? There has to be another way to make some suspense and action other than that.
yeah this one is a mixed bag for sure, which was why I wanted to write about it. It did seem to frustrate some…
I forgot to mention that your article is really well-written, you did a good job! :) Actually you wroted the truth and not sugar-coated it, the only difference between you and us (who don't liked it), is you are hopeful about the drama and keep watching it. I hope you'll get your reward for it and the drama will be better at some point. :)

I've never waited for Monday to come this bad in my entire life.

You basically just sold this drama to me with this article, HappySqueak, well done :D
