I literally said that I would have been interested to seem them do it with less to no western influences which means taking insperation from their own history and being creative about how they think it would look minus the obvious western influences that are present in modern day Korea due to colonization and globalization. Yes I noticed that too! It is kinda funny (not really funny but fascinating) to see so many real world references even with the most recent ep hinting at the royal family being taken out by some traitor. It reminds me of some of the conspiracy therioes about the British monarchy. I image that other modern day monarchys have similar conspiracy theories floatong around.

I agree with that I just thought they could have done more / been more creative because so much of what we are seeing in the drama has already been done in reality/seems very western (contemperary formal wear, choice of vehicles etc) minus the obvious traditional rituals. I guess to your point they wanted it to be easier for the audience to connect to their idea of a modern day Korean royal family.

There are other royal families that are still around that are not part of the British empire though

I am confused why they took so much influence from the British royal family for this drama. I had this thought since ep 1 and kinda just pretended not to care but feels a little unwhelming when they could have done a full modern day Korean royalty with out colonialism and occupation. Ignoring the heavy British vibes it is cute though. (I am not correting all of the typos fyi I do see them lol)

I agree with you on that point. I have seen people in these comments already explaining not only the main character's but also the side character's whole background and presonality. We have people writing out full essays on what these characters are feeling as if it is factual when we have only known all of them for less than 2 eps. It is ridiculous like yes there are clearly hints about how they feel about eachother by we dont have any concrete evidence yet because the show just started. I am just tired of seeing people say "I saw this on insert site that insert character felt this about insert character because insert reason that did not appear in the drama yet" I think my comment was misunderstood because I came in without clarifying. I am annoyed by comments that show that they are not watching the show not you.

Everyone has already written back stories for these characters despite it being an original script that we havent unfold yet. I think this is one of the traits of the director. All of the dramas I have seen by him seems to be formatted like this to create suspense. He seems to put a lot of emphasis on visual setting
