The first two episodes are sorta 'meh', the middle part is the best. The final episode made no sense to me, it…
It had too many plotholes, f.e. they never mentioned the photoshoot and modeling again, or why on earth he'd have a photo studio at home when it's obvious they wouldn't film there in the first place. It seems to be a pretty big company as they have their own cafeteria and a lot of employees, why on earth would the CEO bring underwear home and display it there? How he recognized his sunglasses from 10 feet away, 7 years later with no clue whatsoever, and also his FRIEND sees it right away too (if they're so special and expensive, would he really randomly give them away to a stranger? Does he come from a rich family then? Why didn't he ever date so far despite looking hot af?) I'm just a bit disappointed because I liked the premise but there were too many empty spaces in the world building...

The first two episodes are sorta 'meh', the middle part is the best. The final episode made no sense to me, it went against everything we knew about the ex and her friend. Cringe. It's cute and fluffy, but the development has a weird pacing and in my opinion it's weird she'd give Tarot readings when Tarot is what gave her the biggest scar of her life. All in all little substance but ok if you just want cuteness (they're giggling over nothing way too often Imo). I don't regret watching it because it's short, but I wouldn't watch it again 6.5/10

Totally agree. I loved the maturity of this drama, the relationships and how there really is character growth…
Yeah, I totally see what you mean. I watched some BTS where the director is explaining scenes and meanings to the actors, and it underlines the depth that is clearly present but isn't seen by many in the audience. It's sad. I am glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews and gave it a chance. At 30, it's just the right drama for me. :)

Your comment almost made me not watch that drama, but I am glad I still watched it, because it's not really they…
Again, I think maybe you should rewatch those couple of episodes, because you may have missed some hints. When he comes back and they go back to being friends, and he says 'I have changed', it is obvious he is still interested in her and tries to change for her. But SHE takes it the wrong way because she sees him with Seol Ah. She thinks he is dating Seol Ah, and that he changed because of that girl. It makes her jealous. Seol Ah supposedly managed something she couldn't: to make him be serious. Her pride is hurt and it's why she tells Seol Ah she shouldn't cut her hair. Naturally the writers are creating friction, what would a drama be without plot? But what I meant to say was that those lies happen because the characters themselves are weak. Seol Ah and Na Bi are both acting out of spite, because of hurt pride. It makes sense, it's human. Many other dramas don't go that far, which is why I find the writing of this drama superior.

Your view on relationships and dating is very romanticized. I am not saying it's wrong, but it's simply the reality…
I don't know how old you are, and in how many relationships you've been either, but I find it very entertaining that you think you could know about my dating life simply because I am defending the writing of this drama. Also, I really don't care. You're obviously too close-minded to consider any opinions other than your own, unable to look behind facades and pay attention to detail. Not all feelings are so obvious, and a lot gets lost in translation and/or communication. A relationship is an exchange of feelings, you share good times and bad times, and yes, there will be times you'll feel hurt, even if you date a 'good' person. If you do believe you're open minded, I hope you'll read the analysis in the forum section above 'The things I saw in this drama'. I found it very thorough and close to what I saw in this drama as well. That's all I have to say, have a good day :)

Yes! I am very surprised and disappointed in how much bashing of Song Kang has happened in this comment section.…
I am watching Navillera right now, and he's really leaving an impression here. His role is much more versatile and it's commendable how much of ballet he learned in only 6 months. Of course they used a double for the really difficult parts, but there are several shots of him training and performing where we clearly see his face, and he's got the posture and expression down to a T. Haven't done ballet myself, but I work in theatre and spent years observing the state ballet practice, so I can say he really has talent. I think he's a great and serious actor and I am looking forward to seeing more of him. Btw, watch some BTS of Nevertheless by Swoon, their interactions are adorable. He smiles and goofs around a lot :)

this drama is very wrong and fucked up and if you liked it i'm very concerned about your views on relationships.…
Your view on relationships and dating is very romanticized. I am not saying it's wrong, but it's simply the reality that there are many people who want something casual like Jae On and Bit Na. This drama isn't wrong or fucked up, it's realistic and it's about character growth. I can understand Nabi completely, she fell for Jae On, and had hopes that maybe he would change for her. In fact, we never saw Jae On have sex or kiss another girl after starting something with Nabi. Even though he didn't want to say he'd commit, and he tried to keep a comfortable distance for him, he was still faithful to her, because he really liked her. Anyway, I think it's commendable that there's a lot of characters here that learned from their mistakes and eventually grew up to be more mature and centered.

I loved this drama. I did not think the male lead was toxic since he was clear from the beginning about his intentions.…
Totally agree. I loved the maturity of this drama, the relationships and how there really is character growth here. The sad things and lack of communication happen because everyone is human here, and they're too afraid of commitment and honesty and too proud. I think it's a great drama.

Just finished it. Great acting.... terrible everything else. omg what did I just watch. Script writers must have…
Your comment almost made me not watch that drama, but I am glad I still watched it, because it's not really they way you describe it. Could you please mark your comment as a spoiler? I think you're misunderstanding some things here. ML never cheated on FL, because they were not in a relationship. They agreed to be friends with benefits (aka casual sex), and even though it is obvious that they both have feelings for each other, they don't go 'exclusive', because it is something that Jae Eon doesn't do. We never really know why he doesn't date, but we can guess that it's because he grew up without his parents, who've probably separated. Either way, FL breaks it off because she cannot bear the uncertainty. At that point, their fling is over, and they go back to being friends. So when Seol Ah lies to Na Bi that she's dating Jae Eon, she's sad, but not because she thinks he was cheating. She's also ashamed because she provokes Seol Ah, rubbing it into her face that she's slept with Jae Eon.
It is true that when he tries to get her back, she says: 'But you have a girlfriend.' and he says: 'this is not the issue/point.', but it's taken out of context. He says he wants to know how SHE really FEELS about him, regardless of him having a gf or not. Like, I am not saying this show is without flaws, but it is very real. People make mistakes. All of the drama that happens here, is not because of weird misunderstandings that writers often use to spice up the show, it's because of 'character flaws'. It's because the characters are too proud, too selfish, too hurt, and they lie and don't show their honesty. That's something very human, and it's why I loved this drama, even though it's sad at times.

Why's there so much hate for Song Kang? I've only seen him in Nevertheless, but he was great there. Sure, he was a cool, aloof character, but he had some challenging scenes without any lines where he'd have to express everything in his gaze and he nailed it. A scene in the final episode where he chooses not to say what he came to say, but we can basically see the words play on behind his eyes, in his expression is still in my mind. Darn, that scene was heartbreaking. Subtle nuances are so much better than overacting. So chill guys, and give him a chance.

Maybe try “Empress Ki”. “Sympathy For Lady Vengeance” “Flower of Evil”, “The Negotiation”, “Samjin…
Try Yong Pal. The female lead seems weak at first because of her circumstances, but she literally rises from the ashes and is ruthless to take revenge against those who wronged her. One of the strongest female leads for sure!

It's been a while since I saw it but I do remember loving the beginning so much, it was hilarious and fun and really refreshing. But it dwindled in the middle and lost its spark for me, somehow. I rate it a solid 7.5/10. Cute and fun but not a wild ride imo.

The nurse hates Dr. Cha because he gave the patient dying of cancer a mercy killing. The patient was responsible…
Yeah, I think it's a simple case of her being very narrow-minded and not putting herself in anyone else's shoes, especially Dr. Cha. A doctor is someone who has to make the best choice for their patient, regardless of who it is.

And I thought it was a memorable show, it made me question my beliefs and I started to wonder what I would do if I was put in such situations. It sheds light on matters that aren't discussed much, especially in Korea. But I thought at times it was too painful and I wished for a little bit of a 'breather' if that makes sense? Most of the time it seemed like everyone was living in the hospital (except for the couple of eps where Dr. Cha was suspended). And I really disliked the ending, that sorta ruined it for me. It didn't make sense. He was always honest and truthful about his illness, his feelings, and him ghosting her like that (for freaking THREE years wth??) doesn't make sense. She wouldn't have fallen for it, either. It would have been obvious that he only wanted to spare her the pain, but she was supposed to be character who went for what she really believed in, so she should have packed her bags asap and gone to be with him and support him. They made a big melodrama out of the final episode that went against both the mains characteristics, so that's a shame...

I agree with all you say here, although I really ended up hating the nurse. Murder cannot be condoned, but her anger is misplaced in Dr. Cha. He paid for his crime, with time in prison and controversy around his position as a doctor, and naturally, the emotional scars he would have from making such a choice for his patient. Her way of harassing him and trying to ruin his life won't make her daughter come back to life, and it won't make her feel better either. It's not like he had any part in her child's death. The killer had suffered so much already, who knows how long he had to live with unbearable pain (Dr. Cha says he was his patient for 2 months but that was just in the final stages or his illness...).

In any case, just a little correction, the nurse only had one child, her daughter, the boy who died was the prosecutor's son.

Watched it for the second time and I stand by my previous post that it's a great drama that really gets you to think about life and death and the choices that lie in between. I do wish it had some light-hearted moments, it's very heavy and sad most of the time. The romantic chemistry was really good, but I feel like they should have either addressed it more or left it out, it was sort of a weird in-between. Final episode annoyed me to no end, and can I just say I HATE the nurse Chae Eun Jung. Okay, she's suffering, she lost someone so dear to her and it's horrible. But her hatred is misplaced and she's a hypocrite who'd destroy someone's life and future just for her own selfish sentiments. I had it rated a 8.5 but I'll drop it to a 8.0. Still worth a watch if you want something serious, not recommended as a light hearted drama.

I'm curious, did you end up watching it, and if you did, did you like it? Also, you say as a med student you've never seen a korean medical drama that's realistic. My favorite med drama is Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim, did you watch that one? I also heard Hospital Playlist is supposed to be really good although I've not watched it yet.

Wow, this sure was a ride. It's been a while since I binge-watched a drama like this. I do have to say, though, I am torn about giving it a rating. It's a show that relies heavily on momentum and majestic cinematography and it truly shines in those moments. The music, the composition, the use of color and symbolism are quite stunning. Then, of course, there's Yo Han, Ga On and Sun Ah, three characters who couldn't be more different and whose actors perform their roles brilliantly. I wanted to hate Sun Ah, and sometimes I did, but there were moments where her humanity came through, and I only felt pity for her. Unfortunately, though, all though those aspects were all captivating, the writing and execution of each case, the trials and such, felt extremely flat. I like my villains three-dimensional, and I suppose that's why I loved Sun Ah in her role. The rest of the Foundation group (besides Ms Cha maybe) were money-greedy, disgusting vermin without an ounce of humanity in them. And this, I think, is where the drama comes short. There might be ruthless people like them, who don't feel remorse, who would sell their country and its people without a second thought – but I feel like in this case they took it too far. I am also not sure what the message of this drama is in the end. Is it true democracy to have the people decide on a sentence without a proper trial, through broadcasting images and 'evidence' that may or may not be forged? Handing out sentences that seem so archaic and gruesome that there should be no question it would be wrong to carry out. I suppose it's alright that the drama doesn't give us an answer but to find it within ourselves to be the judge of that. In that regard, it is truly special. A hero, a devil, or just human, we haven't found out yet who Yo Han really is. Now, there's much more I could say about it, moments where I facepalmed and wondered how amateurish one could set up a crime drama... But I'll leave it at that. For now, a 8.5/10 from me, although it might go down if I rewatch it at some point. Kudos to the actors though, they were brilliant! Also, a shoutout to Elijah, cause I loved her.
