I get you, GJM's dramas hit me differently all the time. If you watched his previous dramas, we should wait the next Hidden Shadow and Burning Night. He's not a single director (HS) or just one of producers (BN), but according to trailers his vibe is there. The next his drama as a director is on pre-production stage atm and will be filmed soon.

Haha, that's ok. I think c drama lovers know that douban has no mercy to xianxia/wuxia genre. For example one of my fav dramas Till The End Of The Moon has 5.6 douban score with 400k votes. Meanwhile it was S++ production and the success was huge in China and worldwide. Even chinese government noticed that this drama increased inner tourism etc.
Do you remember that famous building with cascade of pagodas and stairs in the middle? It was built special for TTEOTM and then appeared in 20+ costume dramas.
So the douban rating has nothing to do with a drama success.

During VoS airing the amount of Youku app downloads by users increased dramatically. As I know it's also counted as a commercial value of the drama
