Perfect for a cosy watch

If you are looking for something to de-stress and relax with, this is a perfect drama to watch. The episodes are surprisingly shorter than expected but the story is tightly packed and paced. The main couple are perfect together. It's just overall a nice watch and though the premise might sound weird if you only read the synopsis, the drama has managed to approach it in a sensitive and realistic manner. I like that it stayed simple and sweet all the way. I really love the song that comes up at the end with the sweet couple montage.

Slight Spoiler:
Although the female lead has come out and integrated with society by the end, I would have liked it more if they showed her getting a job and wilfully getting out of her house, even just bit by bit. I thought that would be part of the process of finding happiness for herself. It would have been nice if they had shown how with the knowledge that she has people who loves her and won't leave her, she gained the courage to take risks by exposing herself more to the outside world.

======================================================
End of Spoiler*

That was a more personal preference but overall this drama managed to deliver a sweet story and conclusion that have been lacking in a lot of dramas this year. Nothing overly complicated or too ambitious. It's a drama you can watch whilst snuggled up in a blanket with your comfort food and cosy socks on whilst it's freezing outside.

Special

Lives up to the hype. I'm glad they got their happy ending, watching it was really an adventure because there's so much that happened in those 16 episodes. I loved Like a Dream by Minnie - really made the story feel more heartbreaking ofcourse alongside Sudden Shower. Also, both acted their hearts out. The story was good but it was made even more special because of their chemistry. I keep thinking they really suit each other so well whilst watching this and also the fact that they look SO alike.
I don't think I've seen a drama couple look more alike than they do???

So yeah if you're wondering whether to watch it, you should give it a try. Also, adult Im Sol looked so stunning! I loved her hairstyles and outfits so much, I do't know I couldn't help but take notice of that.

I'm not one into rewatching anymore hence the rewatch rating but this was GOOD.

The Hype is True - you must try this!

Ahhhh this was so good. I wasn't going to try it - I think I've heard so much about it that just had the opposite effect on me. But I decided one day and thankfully I did. It's as many people say - SO good.

Park Bo Young is incredible portraying these two characters like they are actually two individual people. Especially on the romance angle, this was so much more evident because somehow there isn't a chemistry with the male leads when they switch. This is like a masterclass in acting.

Park Jin Young as Ho Su - I loved Ho Su, what a loveable, gentle character. He was brought to life so well by Jin Young. I loved how supportive he was and how he truly loved Miji for who she is. Never looking at what she lacks which she herself tends to do.
Ryu Kyung Soo as Han Se Jin - probably my fave character - I saw a review that said he made the drama more grounded (?) and I agree. He's such an understated, down to earth and easy going character. Honestly I think it's Ryu Kyung Soo's portrayal that made the character so special. The little details, nuances all added up to make him a very memorable character. He gave off warm vibes and was exactly who Mirae needed at that time and vice versa.

I love how everything was resolved, it was satisfying. I cried a few times because it felt like you were being spoken to and watching the twins face their obstacles was comforting in some way and watching them overcome them was satisfying.

I love the bond that grew between the mums and although a lot were annoyed with the twins' mum, I can understand her perspective. I think it helped that I binge watched this, so there's no lingering on annoying scenes for too long. Ho Su's mum was amazing and she was portrayed amazingly by Kim Sun Young. Ok Hui was also a realistic portrayal of a single mum who just had to get on with losing her husband, raising the twins and her mum falling ill. It was a lot and she made a lot of mistakes but I just love the scene where she helped Miji view flats.

The romance was so satisfying - I love how they have developed Ho Su and Mi Ji's relationship, seeing them together was comforting because these were two people who just gets each other and are finally together. I LOVE LOVE the scene where they were signing to each other! It was such a short scene but so symbolic, like they are in it for life, no matter what it brings them. That was comforting.

Mirae and Sejin - where we saw Ho Su and Mi Ji's relationship evolved fully, these two had a more understated, read between the lines development. Rightfully so but because the chemistry was also amazing, I just wish we could see them more somehow. I wanted more in that final scene. I'd love to see them do mundane things, like just walking around in Seoul, being back in their farm and talking. And finally be an actual couple. I think this is why I'm hung up on them 😭 I need to see the development on screen lol.

Plus that grandma dream scene where she asks Mi Ji if she wants her to stay longer. That hurts because of course it's a yes, but she's suffered for too long. I wished the grandma got better somehow 😭

And Gyeong Gu is the best friend for real ❤️

OVERALL, yes there's a lot of hype but it is there for a reason. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Soooo Lovely and Full of Charm - Season 2 please ?

Ahh I'm so glad I stumbled upon this drama. It's soo unique, cute and full of charm. At first, the studio like setting was obvious due to the era it's set in which isn't my favourite because it feels constricted. However, later on this became one of its strength. The characters are so lovely and it made it feel like a small community of warm hearted people.

The main leads complement each other perfectly too. Kanoko is so soft spoken and I love how gentle and how well Soma pays attention to her and accepts her for who she is.

Plus the cases are never too deep or too light. I can just watch this endlessly, I really hope they make a 2nd season. This was so calming and relaxing to watch!

Started off well and more importantly - a satisfying ending!

I liked the beginning of this but it fizzled out towards the end. The ending episode though was greatly satisfying. It’s so easy to find loopholes in time warp dramas but this is probably one of the best time warp dramas made in terms of how well thought out it is.

The timing of everything and the logic behind them all made sense. Finally, a drama where you don’t have to leave your common sense at the front door.

However, I found myself not caring as much towards the later episodes due r to the fact it just wasn’t as exciting anymore. I really loved the part of the story with Hyun Chae and the whole secret affair fiasco. It was exciting and well made. That for me was the peak of the drama up until the part when Seo Jin ultimately found out about them.

Those episodes were very exciting and truly unpredictable. The part where the rapid changes in the future kept happening are one of my most favourites too. The highlight for me was how satisfying they would all just fade into nothing and how great the police detective was. Truly a kind person. It was so nice how he managed to convey so much kindness and warmth through his actions.

By the end, I just appreciated how excellent the actors were in their roles. These are some seasoned actors and it really made for a fantastic watch.

So even though I enjoyed the kidnapping-affair side of the story, the whole company who-done-it chase and reveal felt dragged out. Especially when it became the central part of the story. I felt like there would have been more to flesh out if they had kept with the wife plot for longer.

Got to say how impressive Nam Gyu Ri was in here too. The character was horrible and cannot truly be redeemed but her portrayal of every emotion was so convincing. She was really great being spiteful, a loving mother, a deranged, psychopathic person and manipulator plus a woman in agony. I love love the first time DeoKyun died and she found their photos at the apartment, that was such a heartbreaking scene that even if you know what led to that part, her portrayal was so great it would affect you regardless.

Plus, Geon Wook is just the sweetest.

And despite being annoying, the actor behind Chairman Yul is so good - that whole scene when the evidence of the crime was being revealed, his expression the whole time was just spot on.

Overall a good watch.

Perfect ??

An extremely satisfying drama that got better and better each episode.

I LOVE this drama so much 🥹 After Hospital Playlist, this was automatically a must watch regardless of what it was going to be about, purely because of its predecessor's reputation. But wow - it might have struggled in the beginning to find its footing but once it did, it became a drama that is so strong all on its own with the same emotional core that Hospital Playlist had.

I feel it delivered everything it was offering and exceeded my expectations, especially towards the end. I can understand not liking it and even tuning out in the earlier episodes because I felt too that something was missing in the beginning. What made Hospital Playlist memorable and what keeps people clamouring for a third instalment is the deep bond between the 5 characters.

I certainly had that impression going in this, subconsciously looking for that similar bond and dynamic between the characters but the earlier episodes obviously did not have that. And for good reason, these are people meeting each other and working together for the first time and are also at the beginning of their careers. There's an atmosphere of awkwardness, being unsure and out of their leagues, all of which seem to be the opposite of what Hospital Playlist was.

But if you just carry on watching, these exact things that made it seem awkward and disconnecting are the exact tools that made it so endearing to watch later on. Where it felt like the director/writer didn't seem to know what to do with all of these in the beginning, the second half felt impressive because it became visible how intentional all the details were. They knew exactly what they were doing and reminded me once again that these are the people behind Hospital Playlist. The main characters' evolution, the hurdles they faced and their relationship with the supporting cast created this warmth that made the Yulje universe what it is - a familiar warm space. Being surrounded by difficult and real circumstances but having supportive, competent and people willing to learn and grow made it feel like a place you can feel safe in despite the worries.

I even liked how they portrayed the annoying characters, Eun Won & Joon Mo because what they portrayed really do happen in real life. You can't always win against them but having people who'll support you makes it that bit better and also you learn how to face them over time.

The main leads are perfect. GYJ is amazing in this, she really nailed her character. She was just a joy to watch, from being the annoyed, can't be bothered character to being competent and passionately in love at the same time, she portrayed OYY so perfectly. One of the best characters for me. SSA's character felt a bit ambiguous in terms of where her arc was going but the times when she had the emotional scenes always got me. And the end episode which really rounded off her character's arc and development was so perfectly executed. I felt like that cemented the start of her growth and identity in her field and her portrayal was so convincing, I was so happy for that mini something in the end for her.

KYS's portrayal of Jaeil is just so adorable and warm, others have said he's got maternal instincts and that's true. He's naturally caring and I could see myself in him in that I also was very unsure and would jump to the worst conclusions. And who hasn't been moved when that scene happened and he looked tearfully at GDW? That was soooo well acted, that might be one of my most favourite scenes in this, it was so subtle but a lot of people would be able to relate I feel.

Regarding HYJ's character, I think KSB took a while later compared to others for me to warm up to her character. The earlier happenings didn't help either but I believe OYY's reaction was a make or break in terms of getting the audience to root for KSB. Thankfully things turned around and I came to adore her character and I love how they stayed true to her and still managed to convincingly show how she's changed and grown. I think it's one of the most satisfying parts of this drama.

GDW - who wouldn't want a senior like him? He's too perfect but he's got the qualities I have seen in others, esp. when I just started working too. The people who made you feel safe and who's got your back. But honestly he is a great senior and not totally a pushover, because you could see how he was willing to be disagreeable when it comes to others (defending OYY, reprimanding her, with KSB and the consent form, and with OYY & PNG).

The romance - honestlyyyyy wasn't expecting the pace with which they went with this! And they did it so well. This was the first Kdrama in a long time that made me feel as I did the first time I watch kdramas. I usually wait for series to finish airing because I hate waiting but I started this in its first week and I ACTUALLY loved waiting each week and reading other people's thoughts, watching edits 😂 in between??? I think that was part of the great experience of watching this drama. The anticipation every week, and honestly, the love line has a big part to play in that.

One of the best chemistry and it came from a drama I didn't expect to have romance. Maybe that's why it was great? Anyway, the writing, the build up, the direction and ofcourse, the acting, was PERFECT. One of the most satisfying romance ever, nothing was forced and no annoying issues that's pulled out of thin air. This was perfectly executed and the actors are amazing. GYJ's portrayal of OYY in love was so satisfying and impressive to watch. The way her eyes and her whole demeanour changed when she looks at GDW looked so natural. And the way GDW was holding back was so respectful and matured and I absolutely love that bus stop scene. I think I was just smiling the whole time when they were finally dating. I definitely didn't expect GDW to act that way but they both deserve to be so utterly in love and not hold back. They really deserve each other, both so sure of their feelings and very committed.

I love how they showed their sincerity - OYY rejecting DH and being steadfast, GDW giving her time to see if she really does like him or if it's just the 1st year sensitivity talking but willing to take responsibility once he did give in (openly showing affection and thinking of their future - eg saving for marriage).

KSB & Jaeil's romance was unexpected to me because I just didn't see it coming but reading other people's observations of the small details was quite amazing. I was one of those that thought Jaeil liking her seemed out of nowhere and just because o f her being a fan but when he started to show he does like her, I could see the vision and started to see how adorable they are together😭. I mean, Jaeil is naturally caring and I remember him spraying something on SB's clothing and wiping it without being even aware of it but SB noticed. That was so sweet.

PNG and TGO - sooo cute! The other romances obviously are just starting to come to life and it would be nice to be able to see that. I love our main leads together, their personalities just mesh so well. So different but they just let each other be and are comfortable in that fact. I will miss them being in the lounge discussing, eating and bickering together. Don't even let me start with their relationship with the professors 🥹. Plus those cameos. It's so nice to see them again but my favourite are Iksong & Gomgom couple's cameos, DJH!! (so funny lol) plus JW's - I think that cameo was put in so well. The child actress was really good too which made it more touching. Ah remembering OYY's reaction and finding out about her mother, one of my favourite scenes. She expressed those emotions so well, someone bottling things up because there's just soo much to feel if she lets it all out. It was so sad.

And ofcourse, this drama felt more homely and cosy because of OYY's sister and brother in law 😭 I just love all of the scenes with them but especially that beansprout scene lol. Oh, plus the birthday scene. I love how passionately her brother in law was singing to her and how he takes care of her too 🥹. I would love a season 2 not only because there's more to show, but also because I just want to see more of them together 😭.

Overall, watching the drama was an amazing ride. The waiting, anticipation, others thoughts and being excited together made the experience so much more solid. It honestly is such a well rounded drama and it ended in such a high that there are no lingering feelings. It was so satisfying. Like Hospital Playlist, I can just watch this drama season after season. Because it is slice of life, there are many avenues to explore and show which I would love to see especially since this drama was executed so well but it really did cover everything and well exceeded my expectations.

Highly recommended.

So good!

Watched this on a flight and wow, It's so good.
I normally wouldn't watch series like this but I'm glad I gave this a try. It was just so satisfying to watch and the gorey scenes thankfully weren't THAT bad (the anticipation was worse).

So Ji Sub was great in this - I'd love to see him in more dramas like this. Since it's a short series and the episodes are shorter than usual (more like cdrama episode length), the story felt tighter and more intense which benefitted this drama a lot.

Not much to say other than that I'm glad I watched it. It was so good - the scenes, the music, story and acting. The 7 episodes flew by so quickly. There were scenes that require you to suspend disbelief but honestly it worked in this drama.

The ending was perfect though - that was quite a poignant way to end the series. I loved Ji Sub's eyes on there, so much emotions!

Awww

Really cute - very simple story but I liked how they delivered it. There was a lull at the beginning, there's really no drama or anything at stake, the cinematography, the place and characters really are the highlight. Which is what the story is about anyway. It's like going on Google maps and zooming in to a specific place, this is what the story feels like.

Just exploring and witnessing how someone else lives and their experiences. I had it playing in the background, not totally focused on it since there wasn't much going on at first. Although not such a bad thing because it was relaxing having it in the background then there was a point I began to enjoy and be engrossed in it.

I loved the last part so much, because we got to see the ML's perspective and that really added depth to the story. I had a different perspective of Gong Myung here, I feel like he got to show more depth somehow. I loved his crying scene in the hospital.

Both leads played their roles really well. I enjoyed watching them and Eun Soo is so natural. I especially loved how she acted out her emotions when they met again and how that little whimper she did. Such a tiny thing but it really conveyed a lot.

The timing it was set on didn't really make much difference other than add a nostalgic effect to the story which worked really well. It made it feel like a love stuck in time, in a good way. With the ML's background, Se Ri, her friends and Busan were made to feel like a safe, peaceful haven.

Anyway I enjoyed it more than I thought and glad I finished it with my attention span these days 🙈❤️ Oh, and the cameos were cute!
