with a mom like that, i'd be surprised if Lu Di doesn't have asthma. She has an asthma-triggering temper. I wonder if his dad has it too, after years of enduring her.
I just watched Bloody Romance and Love Will Tear Us Apart after this. Really wanna see Qu Chu Xiao in the next romance drama. His acting always tucks at my heart T^T
Thank you writer-nym for not making FL a needy and incompetent damsel in distress. Thank you for letting her suffer from one calamity to another and persevere through each and every one of them on her own, instead of letting her be saved by the ML time and time again like in a certain other drama. The acting here is top-notched, especially FL's portrayal of anguish, devastation, and hatred when she felt betrayed. Speaking of betrayal, I love the abrupt and unexpected way it was revealed, as i can see how hurt FL was when she experienced it. I started off watching this drama for Qu Chu Xiao, but ended up rooting for FL instead.
I really like the plot so far. There's so much angst and suffering for the FL, which is a treat for me as i can see her grow from being a downtrodden girl to a powerful, strong, and wise ruler. The progression of events is logical, the misunderstanding is clearly explained and plays an important role in the plot in character development. I can understand why the characters acted the way they did. They are multi-dimensional humans who all have depth and complexity, as well as background stories, which makes them very relatable. I've no complaint at the moment. Currently on ep18.
Rewatched ep20-24 5 times already. I can't get over it and my heart is in agony T_T I need more angsty romance with similar MLs and well-developed plots like this one. I tried to fill the gap with Someday or One Day as recommended, and I don't like it because of the lack of chemistry and the acting. Plus the characters, especially ML, are not my cup of tea.
Umm can anybody plz tell me the summary of this drama and spoil the ending... actually I can't watch it above…
If you can't, then don't. I didn't find the drama was for me when i first watch it either. I really like Shining for One Thing and SOOD was recommended, so i decided to give it a try. But I couldn't even sit through ep1. Someone told me I should power thru, and i did. I watched the whole drama and still didn't find it good. I have nothing against the plot, it's just not for me is all. I don't find the characters appealing at all, it felt like a chore to watch, and I regret wasting my time tbh.
as for the ending, the past ML and the future ML is the same person, but the past and future FLs are 2 different people. There's the killer who murdered the future ML, he turns out to be a guy from the future who traveled back to the past into his brother's body to kill the past FL, but he has nothing to do with the past FL's death, because the past FL had depression and intended to suicide. She thought if she was murdered then she will be remembered, so she asked the killer to kill her. The future FL succeeded in preventing the past FL from killing herself. The future changed, which means the future FL couldn't meet ML, so the past ML ended up meeting FL when she was a kid.
I'm sooo glad i didn't drop it midway. Tbh i really dislike FL character at first, thinking she's the clingy and pushy kind, but towards the end, she really grows on me. And her actions were justified. The OST is just perfect. Plot is well-developed. This drama is like fine wine, one of the few that have good character development, and the only one i could say i don't care about the ending, because the journey is great enough. Defo gonna rewatch.
That cringy tacky soundtrack keeps replaying. Killed off any sliver of emotion that arose. The 2 leads seriously lacked chemistry. ML's acting is so wooden, and FL's lead character writing is as bland as it can get. Scene transition is just so clunky, and antagonist's ending is sooo lame. Watching this feels like a chore. I was on ep 11 and i had glossed through a lot of the scenes (more than half), but still can get the main point. That's how draggy this show is. I skipped to the final ep to see if it was gonna be any better. It wasn't. I was right to drop it.
