Intriguing, but it could be better

An intriguing plot, navigating the historical and fantasy-horror genres, delivered by two wonderful actors.

PLOT: The FL, a glasses maker, descendant from a shaman, has been followed/protected by a dragon (ML) for 13 years. She watched him during its ascension, which prevented him from ascending to the Heavens. Her first love, an archivist at the Court, takes her to the capital and is killed during the journey. The dragon takes the archivist's body to accompany the FL and help her fight the evil spirits that infest the Court and want to destroy the royal line.

+++ Great CL with great chemistry: Kim Ji Yeon (FL) and Yook Sung Jae (ღ′◡‵) as the mischievous dragon. Kim Ji Hun gives a phenomenal performance as the king, and his bromance with the imugi is one of the storylines that keeps the viewer in front of the screen.
+++ Effective direction, fast pace, quality CGI, excellent OSTs.

### Some twists are excessive or poorly executed: Bibi's death, for example; the ultra-moralizing side of the FL is annoying at times.
### Lengthy final third: the series would have been better with 10-12 episodes.

=> A compelling series at the beginning, but it falters towards the end. I won't watch it again despite the talent of Yook Sung Jae and Kim Ji Hun.

PLOT: La FL, lunettière descendante de shamane, est suivie/protégée par un dragon (ML) depuis 13 ans. Elle l'a regardé pdt son ascension, ce qui l'a empêché de s'élever. +++ Réalis° efficace, rythme soutenu, CGI de qualité, excellents OSTs.

### Certains twists sont excessifs ou mal amenés : mort de Bibi, par exemple ; le côté ultra moralisateur de la FL est agaçant par moments.
### Longueurs dans le dernier tiers : la série aurait été meilleure sur 10-12 épisodes.

=> Série accrocheuse au début, mais qui baisse sur la fin. Je ne la regarderai pas à nouveau malgré le talent de Yook Sung Jae et de Kim Ji Hun .

I expected better :(

PLOT: The FL, daughter of the president of a large company, returns from studying abroad to discover that her adoptive brother has become the leader of the group, that her parents are divorced, and that her father is engaged to her adoptive brother's ex (the ML). She thinks it's a plot hatched by the ML. Wanting at all costs to get back what she feels belongs to her, she becomes his assistant, then a colleague. A love game complicated by love triangles...

+++ Fan Zhi Xin is fantastic, sexy, brilliant, and moving in these mysterious and romantic plots. I really like He Rui Xian, but I prefer her in action series.
+++ Lots of very good actors, some veterans, and an excellent bad guy, Wang Zu Yi.
+++ Good OSTs

BUT:

1/ The bad writing didn't correct the flaws of the original series, a lakorn, overdramatic. Here, we have violence, a lot of slap-kisses and forced kisses.

### I know the plot wants the FL character to be "strong," fearless, impulsive, and stubborn. This was the case in the original Thai series (and it was one of the flaws that should have been corrected). But here, it's still the case! She's supposed to be intelligent, but she's stupid, impulsive, childish... Unbearable ヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ﾉ
### Bad (re)writing: flat, hollow dialogue / inconsistent behavior / senseless twists / etc.

2/ I don't like the 15-minute-per-episode format.

3/ Rather low-budget series: only a few sets, few costumes.

=> Excellent actors, but the production and writing are not up to par.

Elle pense qu'il s'agit d'1 complot monté par le ML. Voulant à tt prix récupérer ce qu'elle estime lui appartenir, elle devient son assistante, puis collègue. Love Game compliqué par love triangles ....

+++ Fan Zhi Xin est fantastique, sexy, génial et émouvant, dans ces plots mystérieux & romantiques. J'aime bcp He Rui Xian, mais je la préfère dans des séries Action.
+++ Bcp de très bons acteurs, quelques vétérans, et un excellent bad guy, Wang Zu Yi.

MAIS :

1/ L’écriture n'a pas corrigé les défauts de la série originale, un lakorn, overdramatic, avec a lot of slap-kisses et baisers forcés.

### Je sais que le plot veut le personnage de la FL "strong", intrépide, impulsive, têtue C'était le cas dans la série thaï originale (et c'était un des défauts qu'il aurait fallu corriger). Mais ici, c'est toujours le cas ! Elle est supposée intelligente, mais elle est stupide, impulsive, puérile ... Insupportable ヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ﾉ
### Mauvaise (ré) écriture : dialogues plats, creux / comportements incohérents / twists insensés / etc.

2/ Je n'aime pas le format 15 minutes par épisode.

3/ Série plutôt low-budget : pas de décors, peu de costumes.

=> Excellents acteurs, mais la production et l'écriture ne sont pas à la hauteur.

Superbly performed series with a gripping plot, but the narrative is slow.

PLOT: ML, the adopted son of the empereur, has taken refuge far away to escape his parents' control. There, he meets FL, a commoner from a ruined family. She wants to continue her studies and buy back her land. To escape a scandal (conspiracy), he takes her as a concubine.

+++ I came to this drama for Joseph Zeng, and I really like the couple he forms with Liang Jie.

An excessively frustrating historical series, redeemed only by a compelling CL.

PLOT: In a kingdom plagued by clashes between regional lords and constant power struggles, the ML, a (too) powerful general, is the victim of a plot that makes him appear as a traitor. ### The resolution of all issues in the last two episodes is too simple and easy => The ending seems rushed.

La FL est débrouillarde, mais sans éducation. Elle sauve le ML2, général Wan en fuite & blessé, et ils développent des sentiments. Mais le ML2 est annoncé mort à la guerre. Pr que sa soeur (FL2) échappe à 1 mariage arrangé avec le fils du Great Villain, le PM, la FL fait passer sa sœur pr la veuve du ML2. Celui-ci ruine la famille et les 2 cousines partent en région, dans 1 école weird pr femmes.

+++ Un CL intense, bickering, et j'adore le personnage du ML. Sean Sun donne vit à 1 personnage charismatique, drôle, attachant. Ce sont les interactions de ce CL qui m'ont gardée devant l'écran, malgré l'énorme frustration ressentie.
+++ Superbe cinématographie, avec des costumes, des décors, ... magnifiques et réalistes (Dynastie Tang ?)

### Le personnage de la FL est jeune (17 ans) mais son comportement puéril, son attachement/ aveuglement au ML2 (même lorsqu'il est marié à sa sœur) est insupportable (ꐦ ಠ皿ಠ ) (ꐦ ಠ皿ಠ ). Elle se croit maligne, mais n'évalue jamais les enjeux, les conséquences.
Son attachement à sa sœur est également TRES excessif (ꐦ ಠ皿ಠ )
### Le CL2, avec ses ambiguïtés, ses attachements irréalistes à MoXi, est énervant. J'ai rarement autant souhaité qu'un couple (pas de Great Villains) meurt.
### La FL reste axée sur le ML2 pdt 80 % de la série (ꐦ ಠ皿ಠ )
### Le fils illégitime (androgyne) du PM Wu, n'est pas non plus crédible.
### La résolution des problèmes dans les 2 derniers épisodes, est trop simple et facile => La Ending est rushed.

=> Je me suis beaucoup énervée en regardant cette série, qui avait pourtant un plot intéressant. Cependant, grâce à Sean Sun, je l'ai regardée jusqu'au bout.

An excellent drama with suspense/action and romance.

PLOT: 5 years ago, the ML (uncovered bodyguard) and the FL met abroad, in the hideout of a gang leader. The FL was able to escape thanks to a boat explosion. 5 years later, the ML (now the head of a security company) reconnects with the FL (actress) to recover a hidden USB drive containing incriminating evidence. But the mobsters are also on the lookout...

+++ Tsao Yu Ning is exceptional and his team is very nice.
+++ Very convincing actors and a fast pace.
+++ Good chemistry for the two couples, with "lots of kisses" and undressed lovers after a night of love (which is rare in C dramas :)

PLOT: 5 ans+ tôt, le ML (uncover body guard) et la FL s'étaient rencontré à l'étranger, ds le repaire d'1 chef de gang. La FL a pu s'échapper grâce à l'explos° d'1 bateau. 5 ans + tard, le ML (désormais Dirigeant d'1 Cie de sécurité) reprend contact avec la FL (comédienne) pr récupérer une clé USB cachée contenant des preuves accablantes. Mais les mafieux sont aussi aux aguets ...

+++ Tsao Yu Ning est exceptionnel et sa team est très sympa.
+++ Acteurs très convaincants et rythme soutenu.
+++ Bonne alchimie au sein des 2 couples, avec " a lot of kisses" et des lovers non habillés après une nuit d'amour (ce qui est rare dans les C dramas :)

### Les Villains sont caricaturaux (Villain lover obsédée, son one-side lover, "l'héritier" du gang, etc.)
### Storyline qui comporte pas mal de plot holes et d'incohérences.

A cute, easy-going drama with Jiro Wang as a dream BF!

PLOT: The FL, a high-level Taekwondo athlete who's injured, is forced to find a job. She becomes a courier, crosses paths several times with the ML, the leader of her company (with trauma and a phobia of blood), and then becomes his assistant. They fall in love, and he helps her get back into competition.

+++ An adorable CL, with Jiro Wang as All Green Flag BF.
+++ Rom2 is very cute.
+++ A fairly coherent story, both in terms of sports and the characters' psyches.

+++ Story à peu près cohérente, en termes sportifs et en termes de psy des personnages.

Short-length series about love and struggles for power

PLOT: The FL, Princess of a small neighbor's kingdom, and the 2nd Prince, ran away to live out their love in seclusion. They had a child, but in the Prince's absence, assassins killed the Princess's mother and her child (blaming the 2nd prince). The Princess then married the Crown Prince (so she could kill the 2nd Prince who had betrayed her), but the CP died a few days later. The two leads encounter each other in an intense and ferocious fight, all while trying to survive the cruel and violent rules of the Palace.

+++ Good actors, convincing in conveying the tension, the intensity of emotions, and the violence.
+++ Great OSTs

### Casting error: the Dowager Empress looks 18!! The situation isn't believable. Too many obvious twists in a short time.
### Really low-budget production, and some scenes (hate-love scenes within the CL) are too repetitive.

=> The format doesn't help the actors (even good ones) convince in such a rushed series.

PLOT: La FL, princesse d'1 petit voisin, et le ML, 2nd prince, s'étaient enfui pr vivre leur amour en réclusion. Ils ont eu un enfant, mais en l'absence du ML, des assassins ont tué la mère de la FL et son enfant (en accusant le 2nd Prince). La FL a alors épousé le Prince héritier (pr pouvoir tuer le ML), mais celui-ci meurt qq jours + tard. Les 2 leads se côtoient ds 1 lutte intense et féroce, tt en essayant de survivre au fonctt cruel et violent du Palais.

+++ Bons acteurs, convaincants pr montrer la tension, l'intensité des émotions, la violence.
+++ TB OSTs

### Erreur de casting : l'impératrice douairière a l'air d'avoir 18 ans !! La situation n'est pas crédible. Bcp (trop) de twists grossiers.
### Really low budget production et certaines scènes (hate-love au sein du CL) sont trop répétitives.

Great cast wasted by a poorly written story :(

Watched for ML (Yi Cheng), but the storyline is a total mess

PLOT:
During a humanitarian mission (where??? a remote part of China, at war???), ML, a pharmacology researcher and heir to a large corporation, meets FL, a heart surgeon.
During multiple dangerous situations (life and death), they grow closer and fall in love. But ML's complicated family situation (toxic mother and hateful half-brother) will hinder their future.

PROS:
+ Very good actors who try to make the story believable.

CONS:
- Incoherent storyline, with over-the-top characters (the mothers are detestable in this series) and absurd behavior.
- ML, in fragile health, is injured 3-4 times, but still survives...
- CL2 doesn't work for me.

=> Drama that becomes barely bearable only in the last part. Alas !!

PLOT:
Lors d'une mission humanitaire (où ??? partie reculée de la Chine, en guerre ???), le ML, chercheur en pharmacologie et héritier d'un grand groupe, rencontre la FL, chirurgien cardiaque.
Au cours de multiples situations dangereuses (life and death), ils vont se rapproche et tomber amoureux. Mais la situation familiale du ML compliquée (mère toxique et demi-frère hate-love) va faire obstacle à leur avenir.

PROS:
+ de très bons acteurs qui tentent de rendre la story crédible.

CONS:
- storyline incohérente, avec personnages excessifs (les mères sont détestables dans cette série) et des comportements absurdes.
- le ML, de santé fragile, est blessé à 3-4 reprises, mais survit...
- le CL2 ne tient pas la route.

=> Drama qui devient à peine supportable sur la dernière partie. Dommage !!

La FL, orpheline adoptée dans un riche clan parce qu'elle a des visions des dangers, devient la femme "en nom" de l'héritier du gpe, le ML (elle doit rester vierge pour conserver son pouvoir... LOL). Elle va l'aider à échapper à ceux qui veulent le tuer (cousin, branche délaissée, concurrents business, etc.)

A cute & good old-school romance

PLOT: A century-old curse strikes the heir of a great family: his first wife dies on her wedding night. The heir (the ML) must enter into an arranged marriage with a rich & arrogant woman (FL2), but her mother, knowing the risk, decides to use a doppelganger (the FL),planning to replace the replacement with her daughter later. But a (nice) ghost won't let her repeat what she did 100 years earlier.

+++ Very good actors: Lee Hong Ki and Yang Jin Sung (playing both roles) as CL. The other actors are also very convincing, especially the villains, whom we strongly dislike. Jung Hae In, as a young man, is so cute (•ө•)♡ (•ө•)♡
+++ Pretty lively direction.
+++ Enjoyable OSTs (some are sang by Lee Hong Ki )

### Timeline a little confusing at times
### FL's characters—kind, caring, courageous, and so naive that she's almost stupid, a fact too common in dramas—convey a poor image of feminine ideals.

A cute romance in an old-school style

PLOT: Une malédiction centenaire frappe l'héritier d'1 gde famille : sa 1e femme meurt le soir de ses noces. L'héritier (le ML) doit faire 1 mariage arrangé avec 1 peste (FL2), mais sa mère connaissant le risque, décide d'utiliser un sosie (la FL), qu'elle remplacera ensuite par sa fille. Mais un fantôme (sympa) ne la laissera recommencer ce qu'elle a fait 100 ans + tôt.

+++ Très bons acteurs : Lee Hong Ki, & Yang Jin Sung (joue les 2 rôles) en CL. Les autres acteurs sont aussi très convaincants, notamment les Villains que l'on déteste fortement. Jung Hae In tout jeune, est si mignon (•ө•)♡ (•ө•)♡

Good story, but without soul ...

PLOT: The FL, a jewelry merchant, falls off a cliff while fleeing the "bandits" who killed her entire family. She is saved by the ML (a brilliant, poor scholar), who is also her crush. But when she wakes up, she has amnesia and must hide from the people who want to kill her (in connection with the death of the ML's mentor, who was wrongly accused). The ML then decides to pass her off as his sister, and they settle in the capital, set up a "women's house," investigate, etc.

+++ Good CL: I like Wang Zi Qi even when he paly a cold ML. Lu Yu Xiao is also an actress who play naturally.
Many reviewers have ML2 syndrome. Not me at all! The actor is good, certainly, but his character is immature, lacking depth, and lacking responsibility.
### The siblings' plot lasts too long (really, really too long) :( [until episode 23]
+++ A CL 2 (Prince Rui & his consort) that gets us out of the boredom. Very good dynamic!

+++ Carefully produced, with good use of a limited budget.

### The second part drags on. The series should have been shortened by at least 5-6 episodes.
### I know the two leads are reasonable characters, but their romance clearly lacks passion (even the ending :( )

=> Ultimately, the series is a bit disappointing, due to the writing style that may have respected the original story, but which missed the heart/soul of the characters.

PLOT: La FL, commerçante en bijoux, tombe d'1 falaise en fuyant les "bandits" qui ont tué tte sa famille. Elle est sauvée par le ML (brillant érudit pauvre) qui est aussi son crush. Mais à son réveil, elle est amnésique et doit se cacher des gens qui veulent la tuer (en lien avec la mort du mentor du ML, accusé à tort). Le ML décide alors de la faire passer pour sa sœur, et ils vont s'établir ds la capitale, monter une "maison des femmes", enquêter, etc.

+++ Bon CL : bcp de comments ont un ML2 syndrome. Moi pas du tout ! L'acteur est bon, certes, mais son personnage est immature, sans profondeur, sans responsabilité.

Cute romance (full of clichés)

PLOT: The female lead (kind, hardworking, sly) has a secret office romance with a colleague, until the day she realizes he's cheating on her. She goes to a bar to get drunk with a stranger (the male lead), only to discover the next day that he's her new boss, that she have married him, and that he's determined to make this marriage work.

+++ Very well acted (in a very Japanese style) with a magnificent ML (but the female lead must have had a sore neck during filming, because she looks like a dwarf next to him :)

### Female lead character too clichéd (Japanese standards of the perfect woman): self-effacing, hardworking, good housekeeper, kind-hearted, etc. I feel sorry for Japanese women if this is what Japanese men fantasize about !

PLOT: La FL (kind, hardworking, sly) a une romance de bureau secrète avec un collègue, jusqu'au jour où elle s'aperçoit qu'il la trompe. Elle va s'enivrer dans un bar en compagnie d'un inconnu (le ML) pour découvrir le lendemain que c'est son nouveau boss, qu'elle l'a épousé et qu'il est bien décidé à ce que ce mariage fonctionne.

+++ Très bien joué (dans un style très japonais) avec un magnifique ML (mais la FL a du avoir mal au cou lors du tournage, car elle parait naine à ses côtés :)

How to waste a good story !

I really like the story and the original C-Drama. So I went to see what the Thai directors had done with it. But what a disappointment!

Sorry, I didn't like this version at all; the C-Drama is so much better!!

The actors are handsome, sure, but they're NOT AT ALL convincing. Everything is superficial (including the fake kisses). The characters have no depth. And the bias of this version, with ML. unabble to say a word in his defense or to justify an absence/mistake/etc., is unbearable...

Just an advice to those who like the story: go to watch the original C-Drama!!

Désolée, je n'ai pas du tout aimé cette version, le C Drama est tellement meilleur !!
