It's average at best but also has its own unique elements... is it a must-watch for me? Eh, not really. I enjoyed the side couple much more than the main.
Actually the point of ZEDD's multilingual "magical understanding" was to show unity within the three nations they represent of China, Japan and Korea (which has been Cross Gene's overarching goal throughout their careers). It played on the message of global one-ness, and how our differences aren't all that different in reality, which is why they every language, including English. Music ultimately brings everyone together and gets past our differences.
Also, Takuya's Korean is amazing (as is shown via Abnormal Summit), so you'd have no worries if he delivered his lines in Korean, hehe.
most of the things you have listed are things any wife would demand. just because she's an actress these demands…
That last statement, how very sexist and generalist of you. I don't care for AJH as a model or an actor, never was his fan and never watched a thing with him in it save MLFAS which I watched for Jun Ji Hyun. I most certainly do not defend men just because they are attractive (i.e Jung Joonyoung, Kim Hyunjoong etc.).
AJH gave in to her demands though, no matter how poor his situation was. Lying and manipulation are not things any one should take part in. Husband, wife, or neither. GHS did, and pretending to ignore the very real red flags pointed out comes across as crass.
Dispatch has literally cleared this situation as well, the Korean public sees through her constant lying (which btw this isn't the first time it is doing so). I recommend you check your facts before accusing people of blindness defense.
For a drama called Romance is a *Bonus* Book, the sheer amount of focus on the main lead's relationship bothered me. It wouldn't have had it been carried out well, but it was a snore. The drama started off as a breath of fresh air but ended up being a cookie cutter drama with a progressive yet vintage-book company backdrop. This could have been something special and truly pushed boundaries if it let go of banal filler work scenes. The ensemble did an amazing job with what they were given, but 16 episodes is too much for a story like this. This drama could have been capped at 12 episodes and the pacing would feel much better as the plot was relatively simple. The leadup to the main couple bored me and I preferred the storylines of the side characters far more than theirs. The 2nd male lead also seems like a totally different person given the convenient scenario. I wish we were given consistency with his character. Also I found the exection of reciting quotes in this series to be super cringeworthy... The main leads gave off such Mary and Gary Sue vibes--just completely unrealistic. Overall, the ingredients were there, but the proportions were off, making this show miss the mark. Had RIABB kept its original avant-garde approach, I would have rated this much higher than an 8.0.
Gu Hyesun tried framing Ahn Jaehyun for wrongly trying to divorce her, but painting him as the bad guy. As it turned out, he's the one who's been psychologically abused this whole time and it is why he's ending his marriage with her.
