That scene after the credits of ep. 32 is one of my biggest pet peeves in dramas...

I was thinking the same. It's the greatest love story that never actually happened. It's probably timeless because this man grieved her for decades and will continue to do so. I'm not upset over a sad ending, it's just why exactly is this man still pinning for her? They knew each other for 8(?) years, but they didn't show us much. So, it's hard for me to understand why he didn't move on after a bit.
