I'd say it's the ONLY way this story should end tbh! but you're absolutely right for protecting yourself, my love. I've regretted watching this series so much but I wouldn't have given it anything less than a 10. Their love was so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time 😢

I don't know for sure tbh but this is how I perceived it: the Zither resembled "harmony" between the two brothers both figuratively and symbolically. When ShuHe was playing The Crown Prince used fo enjoy the melody played by his brother only for him. When the string was severed the Crown Prince replaced it for ShuHe so that he will continue to play. that gesture showed his desire to maintain their closeness. However, later on when they had their differences and started drifting apart, ShuHe decided to return the string to his brother, perhaps he'll wake up and understand that what he's doing is destroying the bond between them. But tragically, that gesture backfired because the Crown Prince’s pride and rage wouldn’t allow him to admit his wrongs. hope that helps 😊
