I wanna ask that do I need to watch the previous season too?
It's better if you because then you won't be confused but keep this in mind this series and the previous series won't be the same. Based on the photos and character design this series will have a lot more similarities to the anime than the previous series. I watched the previous season and 85% through the anime, I can for sure say this season with cover a lot more of the anime. This season is about to cover more than 100 episodes of the anime.
