This one falls into the category of being a human being; we tend to have 2 or more different identities/titles and in this case, Laura was a mother and a great scientist but that doesn't mean that her role as a mother is all of a sudden worthless. In my situation and current standing, I cannot really relate or feel the struggle she went through for 20 years without her son; her own blood and flesh. I guess in this situation the right word to use would be "greed" this whole drama is built on the word "greed" everyone trying to have what they can't and Dr. Oh is one of them in this case. Due to the sadness, she held inside of her for not being able to see her real son for 20 years she grew to a point of loneliness even with a prototype son well not really a prototype to say but a duplicate which was used to shield her broken heart. when she finally had the chance to be with her son she began to have thoughts of greed knowing the fact that she can finally be with her son but when he finds out they made a prototype of him he will be hurt and so, therefore, had thoughts of activating the kill switch which can be defined as her thought of greed. So, what I am trying to say is your brain does not define your emotion but it does guide them. so, her brain never left the boat exactly but it did subside the boat since she always knew what she was doing was wrong but her greed for her "real" son made her a bit delusional that if she got rid of Nam Shin III she could have her "real" son Nam Shin
