Sorrowing ending. Great drama. Not sure if I'd watch if the ending was like this. But the ending was still lovable. Can't they at least make one of their child alive? Dong Yi was like that.
Yes, it's too old. It's wuxia + fantasy, which means there are fight scenes are there are visual effects. Neither of those were particularly good in China in 2015, but has improved only in recent 3-4 years. Take a look at Eternal Love from 2017, a big budget xianxia, and the monsters are just hilarious, like stop motion from the 1940's. Fast forward to 2020 in Eternal Love of Dream, and it's a totally different feeling. You can try playing the trailer available, it looks a bit dated.
It's one of those I call "a pillow watch cdrama", where you can watch on your phone in bed before sleeping (if you do that sometimes). Even if you fall asleep watching you don't miss much. It's comedic enough to not be boring, but don't expect a masterfully written drama, the script and plot are very simple, and the main story is simply the gender hiding part and romance while everything else is mostly a sidestory.
I'm on episode 9, been binge watching for couple of days. It's a really nice kdrama, I enjoy it a lot, very engaging. It has a 7.8 rating, which is alright, but I think it's a little too low, I think maybe a rating of 8.2 would be more deserving.
Can you name one Chinese comedy which made into a masterpiece - it is a seldom a phenomenon .😅 We can’t expect…
Yea, the FL did a good job, really the only memorable character. The always topless general was memorable too, but only because of that reason. There are a few great chinese comedies, I especially liked My Unicorn Girl, one of my favorite cross-dressing cdramas.

This drama has way too many episodes, nearly 60, and I don't feel like many of the episodes have much material value for the story. Way too long and the story is hard to grasp.
One of those easy to watch silly costume romcom cdramas that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's perfectly enjoyable, but don't expect some masterpiece.
Only halfway thru, but the FL does seem to have only one feature, she can sometimes do mediocre kung fu, other than that her character doesn't seem to special in any way, just yet another whining princess. :/
Finally one episode left. It's not a very engaging story. I don't know why I managed to watch it. It's not very bad, but no the best either. Mediocre romance drama really.
What I find very confusing is that they keep claiming that her body belongs to Jin Bu Yeon. But as we know that is Naksu's original body, with Naksu's soul. Even in the scene where Naksu met Jin Bu Yeon (episode 8) even the blindfolded young Jin Bu Yeon claimed it was her body. And Teacher Lee claims it's Jin Bu Yeon's body. What is going on?
