In ep 21 when YZ waited for LW because he wanted to talk to her, butler Su was so obvious in trying to shoo YY away so that YZ and LW can have a private time together. 😂

I don’t know which is the lesser evil from the 2 scenarios you’ve mentioned. 😂

Actually, with so many women starving and hurting themselves to diet and achieve the commonly accepted beauty, a drama that showcases eating healthily is a breath of fresh air. It should be commended because it encourages people, specifically women, to eat. Healthily of course.

It also touches a sore subject where husbands ask their wives to always be thin or sexy to the point of being sick, or else the husband will not be happy.

In ep 21, LW already said that she will stay and will not leave. YZ was willing to let her go because he is not sure/confident if he can sway the court and his father to divorce YY and make LW his legal wife. I think, if LW doesn’t have the other royal wives and concubines as her friends, and if YY isn’t nice, it might be easier for her to leave. But now, she found a purpose and wants to pursue a career.

If those women just stay at the palace and have no outlet and direction, with the sole purpose to serve and please their husbands, this will be the usual/typical harem. So many infighting, plotting and scheming.

It all boils down to the fact that LW comes from a humble background while the other princes’ legal wives have more money and power from the states they come from.

Also, LW wanted to blotch the interview so that she can go back to Jichuan, therefore she was only deemed worthy as a concubine instead of a legal wife. But LW and her family’s plan was foiled when YZ met her in the kitchen. He wanted to marry the candidate from Jichuan anyway, even before he met LW.

Don’t forget the scene when he was bawling after YZ confessed to LW that he likes her and wants her to be his only wife. 😅

Who would want to have a child with a man who has 24 concubines (and counting!), besides he doesn’t even know their names and their different personalities. He also can’t identify their faces.

Yes! It was further emphasized when she planned and prepared for the banquet but she was forbidden to attend since YZ seems to favor LW and to not embarass YY infront of other people.

Until YY is legally divorced from YZ, I don’t expect anything romantic happening to them, not unless there will be more stolen drunken kisses from YZ. 😅LW takes being monogamous seriously. 😔😂 The kisses they’ve had were only when YZ was inebriated. And it’s already half the series already. 😏😞

I actually had the same thought as you when I reviewed the cast. I hope she will not become an antagonist. Curse that 2nd prince.

This reminds me of ep 1 when the Princes’ tutor said that the only good thing of Jichuan (LW’s state) is good feng shui), 😂

I hope there is no breakup or separation with the main leads. I don’t like that trope. 😅

I loved his resigned look after realizing that all the 24 solar women left his brother. It’s good that the 3rd prince didn’t blame YZ since YY and LW were the ones who took them away.

As YZ told his butler, LW is the most simple minded in all the candidates. She didn’t want to get married in the first place but she got YZ’s attention during their encounter in the kitchen.

Besides, Jichuan is a monogamous state and she wanted to get married to the one she likes who likes her back too, and be in a loving relationship. So, to her, being a concubine is not acceptable. She knew YZ will have a legal wife soon but she never knew of his feelings. Not everybody falls in love immediately. She is the type of person that you have to be frank and upfront for her to understand and read the situation. She isn’t one of those people who have double meanings in their actions and second guesses what it means.

My heart broke for LW when she wasn’t allowed to join the banquet that she carefully planned and prepared. I hope YZ will make up for it big time in the future. It surely highlighted that she is just a concubine and YY and YZ cannot do anything about it.
