The marriage proposal is something new. The original Daniel character never proposed but he did (for a short period of time) became her bf. I wonder if the director will retain the second car accident scene? I think it's an important scene that shows how concern Lee Gun is for his wife.
Daniel's sister is the ballerina - Se Ra (Lee Gun's ex-gf). She was adopted by her ballet crazy mother and had undergone plastic surgery in order to pursue her professional career. However, the scar at the back of her shoulder remained and it is a reminder of the accident Daniel caused her little sister when they were younger (I think he accidentally spilled hot water on her when they were both younger and scarred her back). It will all be revealed closer to the end.
Another 'Hollywood type' drama wannabe! What with the K-genre of the season (it's about superpowers now)??? So we've gone from contract relationships to high school to paranormal to superpowers. Sigh... what's next???
The success of FTLU (Taiwanese version) was because it brought out a range of emotions from its viewers - anger, sadness, humour and happiness. There are basically two arcs to the story - the first that happened by accident and the second that happened by fate. Now that we had gotten to the miscarriage part, the coming scences will be on how the two leads get together after a fresh start. The female lead will be a much better character (confident, successful, has her own career etc) in the second arc. This is when the real love story begins! Another successful Taiwanese drama that has the ups and downs with a great storyline is Autumn's Concerto. I wonder if the Koreans will adapt AC in the future as well???
Someone, please tell me that Mi Young doesn't date the scumbag Daniel, please, I beg that the writers don't have…
Don't you know that the 'success formula' that drama writers nowadays like to us is the presence of a likeable second male lead to create a situation where the viewers love both men and could not decide which one to side? So get ready to state your ground:- are you in team Daniel or team Gun?
Slow and steady is ok as long as it keeps the viewer hooked for the subsequent episodes. With slow and steady dramas, the ability to tell a story is very important - otherwise, it will just turn out to be a boring flop.
Why do Korean dramas have to have amnesia added into it? Do they know that amnesia is a very very uncommon occurrence in real life? This simply reduce the "reality" of the drama. Stick to the original formula.....get to the scene where she losses her baby and we can move on to the next arc of the story where he sets all out to court her!
A Korean attempt at the chinese ghost stories type drama. The acting needs more polishing. It's hard to coordinate acting with CGI effects without having odd sequences between human and CGI character interactions. The chinese have perfected this skill in their often CGI-filled wuxia or historical-paranormal type series. The Koreans have much to learn. Having watched the first 2 episodes, I think I will shelve this one until after it has completed. No hurry to watch.
As an appetizer to this, I re-watched the first RK and all of the anime's episodes (all 95 episodes plus the 2 OVAs!). Currently, reading through the manga. Nothing beats setting the scene for the upcoming RK movies! ;)
A group in viki is picking this up as a subbing project. For those of you who can understand mandarin, you can watch this at various chinese media sites such as iQiyi or Letv. However, access to certain countries may be restricted due to copyrights. I know someone is loading the un-subbed HD episodes via youtube - search for it using its mandarin title. I am enjoying the episodes so far. Cute and light-hearted! :)
Pretend We've Never Been In Love (Ending OST for Absolute Boyfriend) - by Jiro Wang; In A World Without You (Absolute Boyfriend OST) - by Dennis Sun; Perfect Couple - by Li Qi (Perfect Couple OST); I'm Always Here (Pleasantly Surprised OST) - by Victor Wong; Fate (Prince of Langling OST) - by Jia Jia. There are many slow and sad OSTs from recent, old, modern-themed, historical-themes, wuxia-themed dramas and movies that I enjoy. These are just to name a few. :) Besides the melody, I enjoy songs with meaningful lyrics.
I love the TDrama version of FTL - I hope the Korean one lives up to the popularity and success of the original version. I will definitely watch this as I am a fan of Jang Hyuk. This will be the first time though, for me to see him in a role usually reserved for young idol actors. How will a veteran actor perform in such a role? We shall see....*holding my breath*
1) Gentleman's Dignity
2) Love Shuffle
3) Pasta
I'm surprised no one mentioned Secret Garden.
