The plot does toe this line of what's considered good or evil. The bad guys here aren't morally bad, they're just natural predators who are evolving while trying to survive in this ecological chain. It's a conversation that comes up in later episodes near the end too.

The loss of the smell factor really made him lose his focus so he's disoriented and unfocused coz for him this is a calling it's his goal in life which is why he's so at odds with njl, thinking she's distracted from their true purpose in life 😭 He's particularly selfish because he's unable to understand that njl is her own person and not an extension of himself

The drama origin imo gives more purpose and would withstand better scrutiny. Land, plant and animal Mutations are very logical
