That's the mindset that needs changing. Usage of sexual violence as a means to portray romance is just hella problematic. It's basically normalising rape and sending the message that raping/assaulting someone you love is okay because it's just a way to show them you love them. Wtf I usually just chalk it up to the fact that most fujoshis are young teen girls or people with no social sense.

My friend, the TV show feels very tame compared to the books. If you found the show problematic do NOT read the books. It's ten times more problematic. IDK how people even find this toxic series good.

Zhao Shu Yi needs to cut off his hair. I'm sorry but he looks so weird with that hair in that suit. And the suitpants they are wearing is a tad too long. They'd look so much better if it was ankle length. I mean they're like guys in their mid-20s prolly, why tf are they wearing suits like men in their 50s.

Honestly people with survivor's guilt don't look for someone else to blame though. In this case, he wanted to stay while his parents wanted to leave which got them dead and instead of hiding he decided to shout and scream leading to his brother becoming handicapped for life. For romcoms and romance dramas in general, I do care about a happy ending. Like the whole point of watching romcoms is to see two people get together and when they don't, why even watch.

But generally for other genres, the importance isn't there for me as long as the drama fills up all the holes and ends it neatly.

Fair enough. It's actually very normal where I live tbh I live in NE India and like everyone here's at least a bilingual. And majority knows at least 3 languages. So this is like something I hear in everyday life.
