No it's not, since there is no other show that has those views now. Also 14% is good looking at other shows.
The last drama in this timeslot (Taxi Driver S2) literally had peak of 18% by its 14th episode and hit 21% on the finale with viewership reaching 3.4mil by the 14 ep and 4mil by the finale.
It was 14.8 (ep13), 14.9(ep14) only 0.1 increased... But the heading is misleading like it crossed 20 or something
What's even MORE bleak is the viewership didn't actually change. Due to the other shows pulling in less household viewership, the rating for this rose. The total number of household viewers remained the same in Ep 13 and ep 14, both had viewership of 2.8mil.
"Through the roof" is a huge ass exaggeration. 14.8-14.9% is an average rating for a hit franchise like this. The 1st and 2nd season was hitting 20%+ atp. It's plain fact that this season is struggling compared to the prev season.
The show got way more interesting since #that man left and KDJ made his entrance. KDJ is a far more interesting and better written character than Seo Woojin. Seo Woojin feels like a Gary Stu compared to KDJ who has more dimensions to him.
I think this was done on purpose because at the end of the day, this show is about Dr. Cha finding her happiness…
So we agree on that. And you misunderstood me, I'm not a Jeongsok-Roy shipper at all. What bothers me about this whole thing is, they turned Roy's whole personality into "Cha's cheerleader". He had no personality and depth outside of being supportive of Cha. He was a complete caricature. A good writer COULD have written him in a way that makes him a support system for Cha WHILE also giving him an actual personality, which he lacked.
And my biggest gripe of this drama is they underscored the whole premise to redeem Inho, which they did in a horrendously abrupt way. His "redemption" was so badly written, it came out of nowhere and he faced no consequences over his actions. They also sacrificed Cha's own character development to do this because after she found out about his affair, her development went down the drain until the ending.
Kang San is such a darling, it bothers me that he's surrounded by such annoying people. Not a single one of these people deserve having him in their life SMH From his father, daughter, mother in law, brother in law, to his friends like not a single one of these people deserve him.

That's not true though, many great writers can give great depth to their characters even if they were created as a plot device. This writer on the other hand didn't seem to have the ability to do the same so MOST characters on the show was very shallow and hardly had any character development. They were all caricatures of tropes rather than a character with their own story and personality, which is why the drama ended up being this way.
traditionalists and conservatives would've wanted her to stay in her marriage, not leave it and be happy on her…
They were. Agreed. Seunghee was SO badly written as well, like her whole life revolved around Inho like the internal misogyny is just so obvious in this show.

A character being a plot device speaks at the writer's inability to create depth more than anything. It wasn't done on purpose, she literally didn't know what to do with his character midway through and it was very obvious esp at the end.

And from what we saw the writer CLEARLY WANTED that to happen as well. The producers and director prolly forced her to change the ending to please the fans because everyone wanted her to ditch the husband. But the writing from ep 10 onward CLEARLY showed that the writer was not going for her divorcing the husband whatsoever. The writer is clearly an ultra traditionalist who believe that a woman's role in society is being dedicated to her husband and family and have no identity of her own.
After she finds out about the affair, this drama turned into the worst drama I've seen in years. The writer absolutely didn't know what to do with the characters and it's very evident by the most random writing from ep 12-13 onward. If I could rate it below 1, I'd do it. It deserves negative rating.
The show basically gives a "Fuck you" to women, esp women have been cheated on. And the writing basically gives a free pass to the cheating husband who never treated his wife right, EVEN condemning her to death (ep 1). Like there's something deeply wrong with this writer I fear. And it deeply pisses me off, like I feel personally insulted and attacked. I wish I never watched this garbage. I wanna go back in time and stop myself from watching this just so I wouldn't feel this annoyed at this drama lmaoo
Do you think moving it away from Netflix may have had an effect as well? Disney+ is really not a common platform…
Nielsen ratings don't take OTT viewership into account so these ratings are only for household viewership. Honestly though, it wouldn't matter much because household ratings have remained steadily high for other massively hit shows despite airing on OTT as well.
