Just comparing the scenes between the Chinese version and this its obvious how much worse Korean society is. For…
You forget about chinese censoredship. There is no way they will let heavy bullying pass, and for that matter, they always cover up real life bad news, even natural disasters.
Actually you're right, the novel seems to be female centred but the drama will focusses mainly on ZHAN ZHAO character
I was thinking maybe theyāre doing the olā bait and switch, putting yang2 on the poster, and even on the title itself, and then the series will actually be female centric
But then i thought it doesnt make sense. Yang2 is still a top actor, i dont think he would be willing to play second fiddle to female leads, unless he isnāt anymore, i donāt exactly follow chinese celeb news
Glad the male lead starting to pick up a heavier/more serious toned roles. It wont be easy and sometimes he will make mistakes and look awkward, but this is how he can improve.
I was worried he would just be stuck as another one of those pretty boys taking rom com roles after roles.
It would be so great if he can increase his acting range. I get that being an idol and all, they have weird image thingy they need to keep but he cant be an idol forever, and if he wants to succeed in acting, he will need to be more than just a run of the mill typical handsome quite prince
I know iāve said this earlier, but iāll say it again. I really love the setting and cinematography of this series.. I love ancient chinese setting but iāve grown so tired of flawless looking actors, wearing flawless costumes, on CG filled scene.
This series does the word costume in costume drama justice. The dirty, unwashed, ragged clothing that lower class people wear, to the beautiful but realistic gowns that the ladies wear.
And the city setting, my god, its definitely one of the best. Everytime they walk through the narrow alleys with dirty walls around, or when they walk through the damp and cramped city streets. It really takes me back to how it might be back then.
Oh, and the dialogue. I cant remember when was the last time i actually watch c-drama costume series where the scriptwrtting is actually feels real. c-drama dialogues, especially ancient ones, are always so exaggerated. The way this drama was written is so natural, it just added to that sense of realism
Each time i finish an eps, i always imagine how it would feel like living there back then.
feels kinda nostalgic, which is weird since iāve never even been to china.
Really love the setting of this series. Feels ārealā, if that make sense. The dirty narrow streets with moss filled walls, non exaggerated script, Iād imagine these these are what real ancient china would look like back in the day. I wish there were more dramas like this
I've watched donghua and I liked it, so hope this will be good, too. Actually, to me an animated version of Han…
You should try reading the new novel. Itās (only) 2400+ chapters long, with luck, you should be able to finish it by the time the drama gets released hahaha

But reading the description suggests it may not. It may even be female lead centric
Iām confused
Next, if heās brave enough to break out of his own image and take either a silly/idiot role, or a villain role, he would be a high calibre actor.
Either way, i think his future seems to be set as he managed to transfer from idol doing acting to actor doing acting image.
