Agree! I think the lead characters complement each other well. Sometimes too well that they thought they knew what each one was planning lol

I don’t think that’s what @JulesL meant. instead it’s how the FL was constantly acting bratty and ungrateful. I also think the FL could be more self-aware. She wants a proper apology but she cannot even say a proper thank you.

Yeah, I detest her voice but I wouldn’t say she is a bad actress. She is actually quite good with her expressions. But I think she has been typecast.

This is my first time watching her so I guess she must have been really bad in her other shows. For this show, I cannot help but be annoyed by her constant blank stares or her resting pouty expressions. The contrast to the ML is so great.

Right but all those details about popularity does not matter to me. I’m only in the middle of ep 4 now so I may change my mind about her after watching more.

I am watching the other shows and in fact they are getting better with each episodes. With this show I like the male characters so I may continue.

After reading some of the more recent comments, I think I better stay away from commenting about other actresses 😁
For me, her micro expressions could use improvement. Also, like @Lushhh implied, aesthetics do matter to me. After all, I watch dramas for entertainment so it’s even better if the characters are also visually pleasing. Why should I spend my time watching a bland looking actress when there are so many good dramas out there with good looking leads?

I don’t follow Chinese entertainment so I don’t care how popular an actor/actress is. All I go by is how I react to them while watching them.
So far, I am not impressed by the main actress but she’s adequate enough and the male characters drew me in.

This ⬆️ I am watching ep 4 now and I think the male characters are doing great on their own. In fact I am drawn to watching them more than the FL.

It’s not so much the character I guess because I should watch more episodes to judge better.
I think it’s the actress…I just started watching cdramas and to me this actress isn’t as good as the ones I’ve watched and am watching. There’s something about her that puts me off.

Just finished ep 3…not too impressed so far by the FL. I did like the male characters so far so I might continue after I finish the other CDrama I’m watching. I keep wishing that the other actress was the one playing the FL here.

Another highlight for me was them showing Anle being more of the mastermind this time.

I agree with you. I don’t expect amazing chemistry just because a couple is dating irl. just like you mentioned BJT and Song Yi - I’m having a hard time with Destined because I find them boring in the show. Individually their characters are great but together, a bit dull. Completely agree that Sandra Ma had the best chemistry with him.
In this show, I really don’t feel or see anything between YY and WCR. I don’t even think they look that good together even though they are both good looking.
Anyway to each her/his own, I’m not the only one who doesn’t love this pairing and there are others along with you who do like this couple.

I guess but I don’t think we need a lot of skinship and kisses to see chemistry between the actors. As I mentioned, the chemistry between Yang Yang and his other FLs were phenomenal especially with Dilraba and Zhao Lu Si and even before their characters were together and had more kisses, we could see amazing chemistry.
I absolutely do not see it here.

Same here! I heard rumors that they are dating irl but I really don’t feel anything when I see them together. It’s so different in YAMG where even when the leads were not together, you can see sparks between them.

Same here! It’s good that MX is truly not afraid of him!

I wonder what people are going to say about CWD kissing MX. probably will get a lot of hate when there was not even a peep about WJG doing the same.
Funnily MX was less bothered by that and more concerned about CWD’s past.
