at the end of episode 4, the dialogue said something about "the end of the millennium", or something like that. i think it's supposed to be set in 1999. 😲

Highlander is the epitome of swordfighting, immortal, hetero romance, bromance on the down low, 80s sci-fi. it was great. there were like 3 movies and a tv show.

when i was 24/25, i dated someone who was 20 years older than me. they were a year younger than my own mother. i can't help but think of that as i watch this. and now that I'm going to be 43 next month, i keep being reminded that the age gap is a thing. and i have to constantly remind myself that I'm not too old, and it's not the big deal that society places on it. even if i was on the other end in the past. it's surreal.
