When that flashback of the crown prince being poisoned or fed cherries by his father I had a very uneasy feeling that his father just chose exactly the one on top was a bit sus, and then Kang wang tells the crown prince that the emperor is actually the one who poisoned him, thwn I was sure my suspicion wasn't misplaced.. The way the emperor favors the crown prince its like hes drawing away all the suspicion from him should the crown prince suspect him, but I really believe the emperor poisoned his son and there might be a bigger plot than just him being brilliant.. Maybe he even killed his mother.

Finally finished it.. Im disappointed, as an adaptation of a novel, cool you can take out some plots or what ever but they didnt even include the war scenes? We didnt see Prince Ding fight I mean in the novel he was the God of War, they couldn't even give us that glimpse.. The novel had A'li raising and training troops but here they watered down her character and even gave her PTSD 😩 I watched it bcos it was there but I wouldn't rewatch it
Im on ep 36 but I have to say this.. The drama is okay but as a novel reader.. Im also alil bit disappointed, When I started watching I was really looking forward to some novel scenes but didn't get.. Fine that's cool, but I was also not feeling the chemistry between the leads.. I think Ye Li being sick, I just didnt take her feelings towards Mo Xiuyao seriously, i get that she loved him but with her mental health issues I somehow started not looking forward to their intimate scenes.. I dont know if Im weird but I just wanted the plot to drive forward and I didnt mind if they even consummate their wedding or not.. Lulu brought the smart, cunning, sick and adorable Yeli to life but the romantic Yeli or the lovestruck Yeli.. Naaaah and Cheng Leis expressions are everything, his eyes show every bit of emotions he's feeling at a particular time, the way he looks at Yeli and smile or when he's angry you coukd feel it all..

People who criticize the FL are weird, shes the most clever and witty bubbliest character Ive seen in CDrama and I love a witty, smart and bubbly character who puts herself first not those dumb and always need ML saving character, she may not be strong but her wits make up for it, I love how she values her life 😂 she would down bad protects herself no matter what, she fights where she needs to fight and runs when needed and thats how a person should be 😅 and her being wary of ML is understandable.. He is being controlled by that old geezer using his brother to kill FL and FL is not those weak unaware type, she sees through everything.. And I love that about her

Am I the only one who likes Ye Ying's drama character? Shes so naive and cute.. She wears her heart on the sleeve and you might think shes evil but she just a kid I think this time Ye Lis stepmother raised her kids not so bad bcos even Ye Rong is not as annoying as in the novel
I have a wild theory about what happened in LiShan Mountain.. Yess they were massacred but some people survived but bcos they were guarded by soldiers and the mountain was sealed.. The plague or some virus broke out and they couldnt get herbs and food.. So some people ended up dying bcos there's a flashback where YeLi and her seniors are wearing covering cloths on their faces like they were stopping YeLi from going to some sort of quarantine.. Maybe some of her family or mother was in that quarantine and she regrets not being able to run fast enough bcos her seniors wouldnt have caught her.. And maybe her mother or family died there and thats why she runs everyday in the morning..
But this is just my theory! Im a novel reader and at this point i feel like this drama is a whole different drama, its just an adaptation in name only but im not complaining at all.. I loved the novel and I love the unpredictability of this drama as well.
