Yup everything you said about YZ is correct. He only promotes his artists and will stop at nothing to do it . If Neo accepts this, he will be just used as a vehicle to promote the other artists in that drama. Either his screentime will be cut short or there wont be any development in his character at all and you will see other the 2nd, 3rd, 4th leads (who are from YZ company) ......have a more interesting arc.
But I think Zhu Yawen is currently filming the period drama The Age of Peace, will the male lead actually be him?

Little Rant. Just because someone is a "veteran actor" it doesn't necessarily mean that they are great actors. Not all of them are. Especially if you have never watched their works to judge for yourself. In the same vein , just because someone is a traffic actor, it doesn't mean that they are not great actors. These preconceived notions about both are annoying. I know plenty of people who have been in the industry for a while and their acting is stagnant, and one note while other actors who are traffic actors who are really good actors. This general generalization about both is once again annoying..
I saw that rumoured ML in 1 drama and I didnt think much of his acting ; in fact I thought that his acting was exaggerated in some scenes. And that is just my opinion of someone who has actually seen his work. Like I am already seeing some people acting like this man is the pinnacle of acting, when they have never seen his work, just because he is a "veteran" lol.

I hate to say this but it is most likely him. Most 7 or Melon accounts have him as the ML. He looks a bit old next to 7 imo. That's 1 of the issues I also had with the drama I saw him with Tang Wei. She is older than him but he looked way older than her.

Thankfully it is not romance focused (I would really have a problem with him as the ML if it was 😬😬 ) and the drama is focused on her arc, growth, entrepreneurship and female friendships.
They're a lot of good looking actors who are amazing actors but they're most likely traffic actors...and some of them would love to be part of a Team like this one that had prestigious works in the past. However, the director is renowned for not liking a lot of traffic actors for his projects so this ML is actually the perfect casting for him 😅😅.

I agree about his looks too 🙈🙈😅. I only checked it out bc of Tang Wei and it was a Female centric drama in the Tang dynasty; actually based on real historical events but I dropped that drama bc of him 😅😅😅. I just couldn't stand his character and he was the ML so yeah no 😬
Currently watching it and what a hidden masterpiece. It is so Good. And the Fashion...the fashion ughhhh obsessed !!! I also find the crimes that they solve every 2 episodes so interesting.
If I have a criticism is that I wished they didnt introduce the storyline of her adopting that girl from the orphanage from episode 1/2. The FL is a good person and would make a great mother (and is rich enough that it is not an issue) but I dont think having an older kid at this stage of her life made sense. And It bothered me how the " adoption " happened in episodes 1/2 and we never heard or saw that kid again until episode 19/20. A plot hole ; it doesnt distract from the rest of the series but I kept wondering where is that kid? especially since she is at her house so often solving these crimes.
Currently at episode 20 when we say goodbye to her adopted daughter (because she choose to stay with her biological mother).I understand but that was sad.
