I can't believe road home is the only recent drama where the stylist dressed her so well. So many gorgeous outfits. Not only stylish but youthful and they dressed her for her body type. Her best styling in a Modern drama definitely 👏👏
ABAY is kind of a hit and miss with her outfits. They gave her the most beautiful wedding dress she wore in a drama imo. There were a few good outfits but overall they dressed her so matronly 😅😅😅.....almost like they didn't know how to dress her. Thank goodness her face saved some of these outfits bc smh.... everytime I see her at an event and I think about her outfits in general in ABAY, I just shake my head 🙃🙃

I'm watching " Love in Eastern fantasy" Esther new drama once it ends. It is doing very well and seems to be doing better than a these dramas .I'm honestly pleasantly surprised to see how well it's doing ( I like Esther so I'm happy fof her 🙂). It is topping most of the charts as well. It opened at 7.5 on douban. Highest score for a fantasy drama this year.
I think that 1 of the main reasons of its success is the fact that it seems so FUN ( from the clips I've seen) . I think that a lot of people are tired of all these angsty, sad, tragic dramas lately and want to see something different.

Yup this is what happened with "kill me love me". People who read the novel say that it is a happy ending but they made the drama ending incredibly tragic 💀💀💀. And they complained that they changed too many of the characters and for the worse.
I don't read drama novels. I watch the drama then read it later if I'm interested.

Idk why you compare his trajectory to others. Some actors dont care too much about popularity or if they used to when they started ,now they want to be taken more seriously for their acting......especially as they are getting older. It is my impression that XK is getting more serious roles because he wants to be more taken seriously as an actor or win more prestigious acting awards. I for one I am glad that he is taking this route. This is going to be a little off topic, but I will use Seven. as an example. She is not a traffic actress and that is by choice ; she chooses her OWN scripts and she prefers to be taken more seriously as an actress and it has paid off for her. Passerbys always follow her dramas. Her dramas always do very well with TV ratings even more so than many Traffic actors. At the same time, I also like traffic actresses like Bai Lu, Dilraba , Esther and a few others. Or some other traffic actors. I dont envy them or their popularity for my faves because I know that every one chooses their own path .
Whether you're a traffic actor or not, each actor have their success and trajectory they prefer. Some care more about being known for their acting, others care more about being more popular. Others wants both . And there's nothing wrong with each 3 categories. To each their own 😎😎😎.
XK is STILL very popular. I saw that last month his other drama FIYS and ABAY are still topping some ranking charts internationally.
From what I have seen of him over the years, he really does care about his craft. Who cares about popularity? I hope that some of his fans stop having this mentality. Listen to your fave. Or I always see comments like I want him to collaborate with X or Y popular actor and it is just because they want more popularity for him for the most part; and more often than not it is about Idol dramas lol.
I dont want to mention him but there is this traffic actor, younger than him who has started doing more serious roles and it has paid off for him; he has been nominated for 2 of the 3 prestigious Chinese awards and might actually win it.
I want XK to win a Golden Rooster , Magnolia or Golden Eagle award one day (he is genuinely talented and I want him to get more diverse scripts that can showcase that)....or even GET nominated (that is already an honor and lowkey a win. This to me is more important than him being more popular compared to others.
The projects that he has lined up (except Moonlit reunion) although they are not what most Cdramas fans prefer to watch (what is popular ), these are the type of projects that wins you acting awards and nominations.
I was not a fan of their pairing in Go Ahead but I appreciate the fact that Zhang Xin Cheng doesn't have any qualms with being friendly with 7 publicly even though he's in a long-term relationship with Li Lan di 🙂🙂.
