And it is like this in every industry; It is always harder for women in general.
Good for them but it is really crazy. They just need 1 hit drama to get to that level.
Not only does she not have powerful backing, but she is not traffic actress. I dont think a lot of people appreciate enough the fact how it is amazing that she has many hits dramas under her belt when she doesnt have all of these plus powerful resources and agency.
Well I am letting the traffic thing go in her case because it seems like a conscious decision on her part but even some actors who arent traffic actors have either powerful backing or good companies and she doesnt.

Wallace chung ( but he'll probably not accept a female oriented drama where he is 2nd billed; even though turns 50 this month

Chen Xiao I've always wanted them to work together. He is a very good underrated actor. Idk if he would accept to be 2nd billed though although no offense I would argue that she is more famous than him and has more acclaimed works and deserves to be 1st billed.

Tan Jia Ci but he will probably not accept a female centric drama where he is 2nd billed

Deng Wei, Luo Yun xi ( again), Cheng yi, Gong Jun, ZLH.... I even want her to work one day with Yang yang ( the did before but that was years ago and was 2nd FL.)
XK ( again but that's not possible and he's doing male centric dramas these days)
Allen Ren ( again) same reason as above. The only way they'll collaborate again is if they're equally billed.

Sigh.....most of the actors I want her to work with will probably not want to be in a Female centric drama 🫤🫤

Thanks for confirming it. I knew that he was back. Like 1 or 2 months after SOKP ended , it resumed his activities with no issues.

OMG Chen XIAO YESSSS Please !!! I have wanted them to work in a project. He is such a good actor but he is very underrated. Actually he would be the perfect choice for this.

Not a big fan of him as an actor lol. I prefer Wallace Chung but he turns 50 this month; even though he doesnt look like it ; I am not sure if they would want to pair them especially for this drama.

He is not cancelled anymore if I am not mistaken. They were not able to edit him out of SOKP; he just didnt promote last year but he was able to resume a few of his activities months after SOKP ended; unless something changed again that I am not aware of.

Oh yessss I like him. I liked him the most in that drama with ZLH as well. It was unfortunate that he had that scandal because he was absent for almost all promotions of SOKP :/

I am not sure if I will classify it as a modern drama per se; It is recounting the life and tribulations of the character.

It is definitely NOT a modern drama like ABAY, Road Home or even Go Ahead.

1st there will be barely romance in this from what I am reading because it is mostly focused on her career, interpersonal relationships, her struggles in life.

I know that I am in the minority and I know that the director doesnt tend to choose a lot of traffic actors for his projects but I want someone kind of the" in the middle" fame wise; not too famous and a very good actor. Whether we like it or not, some kind of notoriety as a Lead or supporting actor also helps the drama. The drama will do well regardless( bc Seven )but I dont want someone who doesnt even have a fanbase 🙈🙈🙈; just a personal opinion.

True but it has such a sad /nostalgic feeling to it (although the lyrics are beautiful ) so I can see why they went with her other OST "Boundary" (which I also love ) as the main theme song.
This drama has 1 of the BEST ost songs Ive heard in a Cdrama. All of them are great.
