I personally find it more impressive when C Modern dramas do really well on these platforms and different metrics because it is relatively "easy" imo for costume dramas to achieve that, especially if they star traffic actors; Ive no idea why the playback volume for that drama is half of what ABAY achieved in 3 weeks; Idk how that works. Also I dont put too much stock on Douban ratings personally. Good for them but believe it or not but these can be manipulated.
So far there is nothing on her schedule for this month except for that Rellet event she is attending on 09/07. I hope that we get some confirmation about her next drama.

I feel like instead of worrying about the popularity of the drama in comparisons to others, fans of this drama should worry more about how Youku is going to promote it or if at all; especially because they have a bad record with drama promotions in general. The drama has not even aired yet; I saw news that Seven pics will be released tomorrow so be patient....actually wait and see until it is released.

This is no shade to ZYC bc I know that he is a great actor and he is underrated but he doesnt seem to have that much of a fanbase yet; even on X or other platforms ,it is mostly Seven fans who are carrying the promo of this drama so far and she is not even a traffic actress. Like on X, I dont even see a fanpage of him but 1 and 2 (pushing it). This again is not meant as a slight to him, I am just going with what I am seeing. So before some fans of this drama start comparisons, they need to look at the facts . It is a bit ridiculous to expect a drama like this to have many potential watchers here compared to the Story of Pearl . This will be Seven's 3rd historical drama and her previous 2 Male Leads Allen Ren and Wallace Chung were already established and had a significant base which always help. Even with her drama Xiao Yao next year, Neo has a sizable fanbase so I do not worry about the popularity of that drama.
With that being said, I trust that Seven who always carefully choose her scripts will do well. Thankfully many passerbys always follow her works. Another silver living of that recent scandal is that more people even started to check out this drama. Quite frankly I worry more about Youku promo.......
