Episode 29 - That one brief scene between Xia Jingshi and Feng Xiyang was closer to their canon (book/original) characters than the entirety of their other scenes.
That is what Xia Jingshi offered to Feng Xiyang even though he couldn't love her - safety, care and loyalty. He never slapped her or divorced her or even hinted at it. Instead, he promised her that she would be his only wife throughout their lifetime. And then (Major Spoiler) happens to them.
Even if the show wants to generate hate against these characters and separate them from each other, please do it with dignity and grace. ππ
The way this show is turning out to be, please don't let Feng Xiyang covet Xia Jingshi's blood or him killing her in the end, because of whatever weird reasons you have cooked up.
It is called 'character assassination', please writers ππ
His character is decent in the original source, I gather. Cdramas usually darken the SML to make the ML more virtuous,…
If you read the book, you'd do a double take. It will give you whiplash just to process how far off her character is in the show than the actual book.
My question to the writers of this show is, 'Is it so hard to write your own version, without destroying the canon (original) personality of a character??
So unfair to the original Princess Feng Xiyang & Xia Jingshi. It was never like this. π€¦π»ββοΈ
They were together, at least until one was taken away by fate. Writers, you couldn't have preserved their dignity, right? You had to rewrite them as warped zombie version of their canon- selves, why??? π£π£
And since when has FSG become a fool in love??? If you had read the 'canon' FSG (in the original novel) , you…
Seriously! And there are such acerbic comments about the princess. Wow! I mean the poor girl led such a sheltered life with no knowledge about the hardcore political manipulations, the traps, lies and web of conspiracies. She is a naive person who fell in love with her saviour (not very intelligent, I agree) but if you were in her position, even if you were super intelligent etc. but not a 21st century woman, who has access to almost everything, what would you have done????
Maybe you wouldn't have begged Xia Jingshi, maybe you would have kept your head down and suffered in silence or maybe you would have returned to Su Sha, but only if the writers had given your character that kind of dignity. But in this show, the writers wrote the Princess's character so horribly (that's not how she is in the book) and stripped her off her dignity. So, can you please be a little more considerate, πππ
The way the story in the show was written , all the main characters need therapy. All of them are walking the…
And since when has FSG become a fool in love??? If you had read the 'canon' FSG (in the original novel) , you wouldn't have been so in love with the character. At least in the show, he has a much stronger arc.
As for romance, a human being is allowed some peaceful moments, especially with the way things turned out for him. π€·π»ββοΈ

Major Spoilers For the Novel.... There's a lot of tragedy, heartbreak and pain, at least for XJS & FYX ππ But for Suige & Yixiao, its a happy one π
Maybe that's why my heart aches for a happy ending for XJS & FYX π₯²π₯²

Read chapter 109. It will break your heart. They butchered Xia Jingshi's character alongwith the Princess's. She's very young and has been spoilt but it was never that kind of a relationship between them. He never lifted a finger against her, even though he did other evil deeds. And when you read these two characters endings, you'd be gutted. Then you'd understand my frustration at the Drama Version π

If the Princess character was written originally like that then you couldn't help because it's considered canon. But the writers warped her image. She's a Princess, for God's sake, why would she humiliate herself like that??? Doesn't even make sense π€·π»ββοΈ

Just kill her already, writers ππ Those scenes of the Princess where she threw herself at Xia Jingshi, OMG!! I wanted to bury myself. That was never her character. They aimed too low with that insult, it was so humiliating.
And I'll admit that I like Xia Jingshi because he's such a complex character. He did a lot of horrible things - the death camps, the sacrifice of his own ppl, the citizens of the mountain pass, Fu Yixiao, etc. But even then, there is some dignity to his personality, all his evil actions are because of (Please read the book π)
But this Xia Jingshi, I just want him to die a really fast and horrible death now. The writers assassinated his character even worse. (Unless, it is revealed that all of this was a plan, fake stuff etc.)
And if they mess around with Feng Suige and Fu Yixiao, I'm calling for blood (boycott and criticism) Super pissed with the promos. π‘
I hope I'm wrong though and I have misunderstood everything π€
Can the princess of Susha do anything right? Stupidity after stupidityβ¦ why did she decide to lie to him about…
Now I wish tragedy comes to her sooner. The writers did her dirty. At least the princess from the novel had a better arc, she was still foolish but she redeemed herself in the end.
Oh why did the writers have to write such garbage about her and Xia Jingshi? π€¦π»ββοΈ
Couldn't they have made the viewers hate Princess Feng Xiyang and Xia Jingshi, with their dignity intact?
Unless someone's dreaming or pretending or something else.
Is it too early to call out 'character assassination?'
For people who have read the book, was it really necessary to do the above βοΈby the writers?
Idk, ya'll tell me if distorting the character arcs of a few characters is going to be beneficial for the story on the whole?π€·π»ββοΈ
Feng Suige and Fu Yixiao will still have to tackle the same obstacles, and their story arc doesn't change? They will of course be the benchmark for a few things (Spoilers) no matter how much you change the story.
So why destroy some of the important pinch points?
I would still take all the hurt and pain that the book offers instead of this mess they're trying to serve us in the upcoming episodes.

Seriously Tencent? Nobody objected to this? ππππ
