Read chapter 109. It will break your heart. They butchered Xia Jingshi's character alongwith the Princess's. She's very young and has been spoilt but it was never that kind of a relationship between them. He never lifted a finger against her, even though he did other evil deeds. Just kill her already, writers 😭😭 Those scenes of the Princess where she threw herself at Xia Jingshi, OMG!! I wanted to bury myself. That was never her character. They aimed too low with that insult, it was so humiliating.
And I'll admit that I like Xia Jingshi because he's such a complex character. He did a lot of horrible things - the death camps, the sacrifice of his own ppl, the citizens of the mountain pass, Fu Yixiao, etc. But even then, there is some dignity to his personality, all his evil actions are because of (Please read the book 🙏)
But this Xia Jingshi, I just want him to die a really fast and horrible death now. The writers assassinated his character even worse. (Unless, it is revealed that all of this was a plan, fake stuff etc.)

So why destroy some of the important pinch points?
I would still take all the hurt and pain that the book offers instead of this mess they're trying to serve us in the upcoming episodes.
