maybe if itβs just me, but the MLs asshole-iness doesnβt seem realistic, they feel like 21st century assholes…
We can't claim that the men written in the story are inadequate in sensibility and emotional depth, based on 5 episodes alone. I beg to differ on this. Maybe watch the entire series to see what this drama has to offer. πβοΈ
I think the show started with the premise of showcasing how - 1) A widowed mother of 5 surviving children and an adopted one, refuses to be at the mercy of the cruel world and cruel fate.
2) Her husband died early and so did her only son. The timeline is of the Song Dynasty when women were limited to their boudoirs.
3) The men from that timeline would generally be considered assholes if we were judging from the 21st century POV.
4) However, this is a story of how women, from that timeline, struggle to create a better future for themselves.
So, I think
1) The men being how they are is a part of the story's conflicts.
2) The mother-in-law being insufferable is how some privileged women would actually behave.
3) The character progression for each of the characters and how they achieve their heart's desire, is the whole point of the story.
4) So, we can't have knights in shining armours and paper princesses since they don't exist in reality. We mostly have to put in a great amount of effort to get the life that we want and our personal choices.
I think this is a great show which is going to showcase all of the above. So, all of us here let's watch it together and let the DRAMA UNFOLD... ππππ
(P.S. General Song Mo is the father of 6 kids..... I can't ππππ)
Maybe I'm greedy but I think this show needs a Season 2 cuz:
1) Fan Yue + Bai Shuo need to explore more of their relationship from the past (Ik the last 10 episodes are gonna highlight this but there are other side plots too.) and the present which would evolve their relationship to a deeper level.
2) I need a reincarnated Mu Jiu + Tian Huo story arc with a HE.
3) A reincarnated Cheng Tao + Fan Yue brotherhood because of Fan Yue's traumatic childhood and loss.
5) Fu Ling being accepted by Bai Sho and them with Chong Xiao being a family again. (All three of them were torn apart from each other due to brutal circumstances).
6) A Chong Xiao + Fu Ling slow-burn romance with a proper story arc with both being each other's antidote to their inner demons.
7) A new peace pact between the Eternals , Divine Race and the Demons. π€
OMG! The Fox Clan has too many tragic love stories. Please tell me that all the sacrifice of the previous generation is enough to sustain Mu jiu + Tian Huo's love story. They're so cute together π€π
Ditto. But please let the story matter π. Considering his acting portfolio right now, a rom-com with the same, formulaic structure would be so boring. Manifesting a rom-com drama which can propel him to even greater heights of his career. π€π€
Mermaid / Intercross movie. It will be released on October probably. But Yibo and his team always keep the news…
Thank you π Ya the haters are a menace. But, I thought he was only working in movies until War Of Faith. And I've loved all his projects so far. He's really talented π
After 30 episodes, here's my review Pros: 1) Love the CP. They're perfect. π 2) Second chances resonate more, especially if it's a romance that was meant to be but ended up being star-crossed. β 3) A strong Antagonist whose tragic fate justifies his actions. β 4) The CP seeing each other clearly and learning from past mistakes β 5) Secondary characters having their independent stories that actually support the main plot.
Cons: 1) Crisper storytelling - I wish they'd edited the script a bit more because it's via the camera lens now. So, it should be more visual.
2) Character development -
Pei Wenxuan needs more screen - time and better camera angles and dialogues with Su Rong Qing.
Su Rong Qing needs to portray more emotional conflict and pain, due to his trauma from the previous life. His character arc has to be more agressive.
3) Cohesiveness - The story jumps from plot to plot and then shows us the reactions of the main characters. I wish they'd designed it to follow the actions of the Antagonist (SRQ) due to his trauma, and then, make the CP react to those.
4) The Crown Prince - The entire story happens because of the crown prince's past-life actions but now, they seem to have forgotten that he's the main catalyst. Hello! He's just treated as a prop now. π€·π»ββοΈ Please give him his share of the action π
I agree, this version is better suited for the series.
Can't say for sure but I think they're trying to keep them as friends from Han Ting's side and a one-sided love from her side. Because she was visibly triggered when that photo of Ji Xing & Han Ting as college mates was posted on the office intranet.
I agree, this version is better suited for the series.
I'm guessing that initially Han Ting will be on the back foot because 1) He misunderstood her due to that message, ages ago. 2) Ji Xing has a boyfriend for now.
And even when they get together, professionally, there's no easy path because she's was his junior and he knows that she's a little too naive(in a good way) and he'd want to protect her from the obvious hostility that's coming her way, real soon.
I'm just waiting to see how they develop this relationship from college mates to colleagues to partners to lovers....
I've read the novel and loved it but this version of Han Ting has his own distinctive personality which is quite different from the book. I'm loving Xu Kai's (and writers of the show) version.... ππ
Well, except that the director, at first was praised, is now being scolded, so that has to be concerning.
True. But I don't really read or comment in the forums, unless of course the other person is calm and reasonable enough to have a proper conversation with. And yeah, I totally blocked all those negative comments. They're baseless.
The stills from 'Moonlit Reunion' are giving me really positive vibes. Plus the fact that we have Xu Kai and Tian Xi Wei who are both super good looking and fabulous actors. So, in all I think this show is gonna do wonders. π€π

I watched the show, The Double. Trust me it's really good. Just that the extra 5 mins showed us the life of the lead couple after a major event in their life, which wasn't really needed. They could've ended the show with the last episode which had spectacular cinematography.

The Double was a runaway success. If it's the same director then I'm manifesting an airing date for this year π€π€π€π€ππ
Moonlit Reunion is gonna be so good...πππππ
