Dispatch released an article bringing up the controversy about her scammer ex. They were claiming she had received and spent I'll gotten funds from his fake/scam accounts (which could make her an accessory to his crimes). Her agency was able to refute the matter though but it caused the episode to be delayed and it aired later.
I'm reading the novel right now and I'm kind of curious how they adapted this. the novel has a LOT of sex scenes…
I'm glad someone else is reading/has read it. Can't lie, Wei Shao comes across as such a terrible guy in the novel imo... The drama description says he's kind which is a term I wouldn't really use to describe him in the novel. I'm guessing they're gonna give him somewhat of a personality facelift in the show cus it'll be hard to root for him otherwise.
Yeah the bath scenes and bed scenes are mostly gonna have to go I think.
Ridiculous. If people like him need to lose weight for a role it's no wonder so many people suffer from a eating…
The character he is playing is supposed to look sickly and weak, imo they should have cast someone who fit the appearance better rather than someone who now had to lose 17lbs just to not really fit the character description
I haven't seen a single drama that was split into parts that didn't air right after another. I think it's most…
Well, from what I've heard, and again I dont know if its true but the rumour that's going around is saying that Part 2 may be delayed due to reshoots and post-production issues. This is honestly the most plausable reason but it logically doesnt make much sense (at least from a profit driven standpoint), why would tencent air part 1 if part 2 is not yet finished and risk loosing the momentum it's gained?
Ashina was a prominent Tujue/Göktürk clan name. Shows invloving Tang-Göktürk conflicts won't pass the censors.…
In the original history, the kingdom (First/Eastern Turkic Khaganate) Ashile Sun belongs to essentially falls apart in the next 4 years. Their king (Illig Khagan) makes tons of bad decisons and ends up with a civil war on his hands, which the Tang emperor (Taizong, Li Shimin) is able to gain the upper hand by helping the people fighting against the Khagan. The Khagan is forced to abdicate and his kingdom gets dissolved and is absorbed by the Tang. Although they try to re-stablish the Khaganate, it gets absorbed by the Tang again.
In case people don't know much about Chinese history. Here's a backgrounderhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xuanwu_Gate_IncidentI…
I also don't think Li Shimin was the one that killed Changge's mother. More than likely she killed herself because like you said, it's heavily implied that she did end up informing Li Shimin about Li Jiacheng's plan to kill him first. She probably felt guilty when she heard that her husband had been murdered (especially because she was the one who leaked the info) and decided to take her own life. They are trying to show the Xuanwu Gate incident as a necessary evil, a 'kill or be killed' situation and, Li Shimin doesn't seem like a bad person to me in light of that (at least they aren't actively trying to portray him as one). He looked very shocked coming out of Changge's mothers's room, like he didnt expect her to be dead. Another massive clue for me is the knife, Li Shimin has a good relationship with Changge, would he seriously kill her mother who informed him of the plot against him with the knife that was given to him out of respect and honour by her daughter? Seems unlikely.
With all the sensitive Korea-China issue currently between Knets and Cnetzs that influenced Knetzs negative reactions…
I dont think the fact that its an adaptaion of a Chinese IP that will be the main issue, the Korean version of 'A Love so Beautiful' is airing yet its managed to avoid all the mess happening. I feel like this drama will be helped if it airs before the Chinese version because people won't have anything to compare it to. This drama will have to be incredibly careful in choosing sponsors and how it'll depict history (see coustumes and props). Tbh it'll probably be put on the back burner for a bit and even then it might still end up airing before the original because the way the system works in China is very convoluted and unpredictable.
Between Sky Castle, Penthouse, Love ft. Marriage and Divorce and The World of the MarriedI feel like we've had enough of these of high society makjang dramas. Honestly these dramas are being made too often and I find them too draining to watch, (I mean why isn't there a single likeable character in your entire series, you want me to hate every one?)
This is why I thought he was actually quite pitiful as a character, the empress didnt even really love HIM, just the face he had. That scene when she was on the altar giving birth to the snake and she called out the Master's name in pain and not his made me feel really bad for him.
