So like I've always been curious, is the end scene in s1 (with the guy cutting SY's painting and looking through all his work), was that FKY?? Like I know we've also seen FKY slashing a few of SY's artworks in s2, but it was never actually clarified what happened in that scene
Also sidenote, wth that last episode was so damn romantic?? DC: SY you're a genius, you like flying high up in the sky, while I prefer running on the ground SY: You're right, wherever you run to, I will fly there too like omg?? quotes of the century right here
I haven't finished s2, but I totally agree, it seems s2 is more like an extension of s1 instead of a continuation if that even makes sense. I love s2, but it just wasn't as gripping and exciting, and I felt that there was a lack of focus on the relationships between the characters, something I always look for in series. In s2 there is a more obvious focus on psychology and the human mind/feelings whatnot that ShenYi analyses, which is interesting and all, but I did find myself drifting off quite a bit and losing focus when watching s2.
About DuCheng, I found it quite funny that sometimes it seems he contradicts himself, especially the scene where ShenYi tries to find out more about the age of the Min Xu or sth before they all found out the girl was sus, and DC was like you shouldn't get obsessed with everything, but then shortly after DC was also like, if there is anything suspicious we must get to the bottom of it. Like, by now, don't you trust SY enough to know when he thinks sth's odd, it means that sth is odd??
I haven't seen much of Fang Kai Yi, so can't say much about him yet, but he seems set up to be a mirror of SY's potential 'dark side'? I could be completely wrong about this. I honestly love when they explore the potential darker sides of characters, which I think they tried to do with SY with a lot of hinting from the criminal suspects (e.g. Ao Li), but they don't really explore this? It's more like little hints everywhere but no actual depth to this plot point
I wanted to ask this question too, when I watched it, but one case looked very impossible for Shen Yi to draw…
I just finished it, but i thought nearly all had a sort of logic to what he did. It was only in the last few episodes when he drew DuCheng from the black shadow in the cctv clip that i thought that was really impossible.
Cuz previously he either had skulls, humans descriptions, half a glance at the camera etc. But DuCheng's was literally just a shadow 🤣
There's this thing with this show. The plot is actually VERY good. Everyone have been given proper motivations…
Hahaha Blossom is on my to watch, I also dropped First Frost after a few episodes unfortunately. I really liked Hidden Love though.
I think for cdramas they're usually quite slow paced, but lots of people like that and rate it high. Usually I like cdramas too, but some are just too slow, but you can usually tell by the first few episodes so i always give it a try first
Finished ep 20,I'm thinking of dropping this drama. No likable characters, no suspense in the story,FL's character…
Honestly after actually (half) watching this series, I'm surprised the ratings are this high, but it might have something to do with this being more likely to the taste of the audience before 2020s

I love this, this is hilarious haha. I honestly am not a big fan of this either, I recently recommended this to my mum seeing the high ratings and having heard good things about it, but after watching bits and pieces of the drama with her, honestly it just isn't that good ..
I understood the characters' motivations (albeit sometimes I just want to punch them across the face real hard), but I can't connect with them at all, which is what I found to be most important for me to really enjoy a series.
Got linked here on my rewatch of s1 to get to watching s2!! It's such an amazing and gripping drama and no predictable mysteries either, love it so much! The ending isn't a cliff hanger but gosh that scene really creeped me out
why was DC smirking at the end?? who was that SY doppleganger??? i just lowkey got Banana Fish ptsd flashbacks from that scene ..
Also sidenote, wth that last episode was so damn romantic??
