This was filmed before LAR (before he is famous), so its understandable as second lead.
But this drama open his opportunity for LAR, since the director like his acting skill here and refer him for LAR 😉
Btw i give 9/10 for this, eventho this female centric drama and cy already famous for his tragic dramas now, but this drama is the first time i truly crying watching cy as cheng xu 🤣🤣🤣

He stands up and confront his mom after knowing his mom threaten zj, he also firmly said he will leave his mom for zj. For asian family, this is already maximum effort. We cant expect he beats his only mom who raised him alone all this time 😂

Another complaint is too many accidents, are we now living in utopia world without a series of unfortunate events and everything goes smoothly? Haha

Idk for sure. But from my understanding its fdb belonging from the start.
Why, because LLH always wants to get rid/leave fdb, he doesnt want to be in any relationship including friendship to anyone since he is dying.
And if i am not wrong first time flute appeared on scene was after llh said fdb was spoiled rich boy etc. Which means before their relationship got better later.

From what i understand, the flute was always with fdb, saw him bring it before, so its his belonging.
About symbolism, from situation wise (remote location, sudden/shocking/reflex act), i dont think fdb able to think nor prepare hidden/special meaning, hehe.

For example, Li Lian Hua from Mysterious Lotus Casebook, he is a complex, calm yet funny character that along the way we will feel he is our close friend that we cant let go...
