The exaggerated comedy in this show is too much. I think this is the second taiga where I've hated how they adopted Ieyasu's character. He was adopted horribly in Sanadamaru, and he's adopted horribly here too. I won't bother complaining about the battle scenes or skipping important events; that seems to be a staple for all taigas in general, even the good ones.
This is one of the better taigas in recent memory. No exaggerated comedy, serious issues are treated with maturity, I love it. Hopefully, we get a dedicated sub group for this, the first three episodes have been enjoyable.
This show turned out a lot better than I expected. Han So Hee was great in the leading role, and I'm glad they steered away from the ending I was expecting. Given how the show ended, a season 2 is likely.
What happened to the manhua ? Did it stop halfway?
The manhua was forced to go on hiatus because the author's contract with her publisher was terminated was what I heard. She has struggled to get back the rights to her work since then, is my understanding of the situation.
It's amazing how this show is only rated 8.6, while poorly written shows like Nirvana in Fire is in the 9's. This show is without a doubt the best Chinese historical drama in terms of writing, production and acting. It's one of the best historical dramas period actually. This rating is criminal....
it is not a historical drama.. it is a fantasy drama... not really a who to 'ship' drama... those who are 'shipping'…
It's not a good fantasy drama either. There is nothing complex about this show, everything is very straight forward and predictable. This show just does everything poorly. Too much "telling and not showing", which is surprising considering who the director and screenwriters are. I feel like I'm having Nirvana in Fire flashback, because I don't understand how people can think that's a well made show either.
Interesting premise wasted by bad writing. 6/10. I feel like this show is geared towards those who don't really care for historical dramas, or are only interested in "ships".
Can someone recommend me some good historal chinese dramas? I've been searching for some and all the one's I've…
The Legend of Zhen Huan and Romance of the Three Kingdoms are the best Chinese historical dramas I've ever seen. They really have no close comparison. Besides those show s you could also check out Story of Ming Lan, Legend of Hua Mulan (2013 version), and Yanxi Palace. These are really the only ones I would recommend if you care about acting, production and the writing of the story.
Lol, like what? Off the top of my head, Dae Jo Young, Queen Seondeok, Six Flying Dragons, Jumong, King Geunchogo, and Jeong Do-jeon are way better than Arthdal Chronicles. It's not even a close contest. Arthdal Chronicles had the potential to surpass them all but that potential was never realized.
I agree it doesn't have that hooked factor. This show has so much potential but sloppy writing and editing is…
I think this show is far from Korea's best. Objectively speaking, King Geunchogo and Jeong Do Jeon are better shows, and I also think Nirvana in Fire is very overrated. I actually find it weird that I see that show get mentioned more than Legend of Zhen Huan, which might be one of the best historical dramas ever made.
