Nanzhen and Deng ke being criticized isn't something I've seen. Deng ke has had may hits like guardians of the dafeng and prisoner of beauty which he worked on with Nanzhen (who also worked on trotar) which is why I have faith in them.
The fact that it's going the non idol drama route would most likely attract more attention and they could get nominated for prestigious awards if the drama does well.

Actually Deng Enxi is a good actress, just that in Moga her character made bad decisions usually and the script made her a bit annoying but acting wise, she's really good for her age and generation.
People are wondering why they chose her for the FL when this is a big production and dyx may not be able to carry it alone, I've also wondered that too tbh but I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter whether the actress is big or not, it matters more on the script and acting skills cause the plot of this drama and it's progression is not like your typical cdrama idol drama, it's one that'll definitely stand out when it comes out.
It's basically set up for success too when you think about it, source novel written by Zhi Zhi, Director is Deng ke, Screenwriter is Nanzhen and the actors are all talented with real talent and not just Gp fame.

I think the character she's playing is Yi Zhangzhu. In this respect, although she's not a villain, her character is quite annoying, fake, naive and snobbish. I like Kong xueer tho, so I'll be watching regardless
