i love the way this article is written. really fun to read \(^o^)/ the little notes below the screencaps rlly got me lol. i feel like watching these dramas now for some reason. especially love how you've highlighted the way different values present themselves across the countries.
it is also interesting to note certain exceptions where the concept of 'oh it was the father figure' being the culprit showing up in s. korea. not in the detective genre. but in the horror/supernatural/cult type genre. really makes one think huh
honestly Goodbye My Princess and 1 Litre of Tears were 100% worth it. in fact i liked them more bc their endings were fitting and went above and beyond. although it did cause so much heartbreak T-T if it is for them, i will love this pain too
I saw this post first, and then went back to read your first part. And it felt like I was reading my own story....I…
Malicious Empress is THE BEST ngl. and mo dao zu shi is def the best adaptation. i didnt know untouchable lovers had a novel. i tried reading eight treasures trosseau but got bored after 2 chapters so i left it for later. ive tried reading so many novels after malicious empress but everything pales in comparison. either the writing is off or the translations are terrible T-T cant wait for minglan to be completely translated
i usually used to never rewatch anything since i felt there was so much to watch so why bother with something ive already finished. but lately i keep going back to my old favs. the current ones simply flatline save for a few. ive pretty much switched over to cdramas at this point
bruh that;s literally a common trope. deadass most spy type movies also use it. a family/group infiltrating operations in a household like that. the purpose, storytelling, direction everything is different
oh thank god this is so fulfilling to read. its so annoying seeing these being repeated. another minor addition would be when someone gets a nosebleed and they pinch and turn their head up like???? bruh we tryna get the blood OUT not IN smh and the handwashing thing too. there are in fact doctors who do not wash till the nails and knowing that is simply terrifying
im not even going to get started on the cpr thing. gives me a headache just thinking about it. the way its done in dramas....just...no....nope
i expected more Thai dramas on the list. they can be soo good but soo bad i just want to shoot myself in the head…
the rare good ones are exceptional. i really loved girl from nowhere and the gifted. game sanaeha was barely in line. hua jai sila had its issues but ignoring those i loved it. other than those i cannot watch a single thai drama without feeling like my nails are being pulled out one by one
I can't believe Meteor Garden is not winning this, that thing gave me diabetes and bad sight! Heirs is an opera…
truly *war flashbacks* im still not over the violence tbh. i had to drop it when he grabbed her by the collar and shoved her on the wall. that was horrifying. couldnt watch a 2nd more
