8/10 for sky castle?! unacceptable it's a 13/10 from me lol....untouchable lovers really was a whole mess...but a lovable mess. cant believe it came out just last year. I feel like it's been ages since I watched it. memories of Alhambra took all my expectations and just vanished into thin air. the whole series was amazing but the ending would really make or break it...and well....it's the writer of W....despite my expectations they let us down again. the last ep felt incomplete. not even an open ending....just trailed off....I don't regret watching it since it's sp unique but it could've been sooooo much better.
looks like I have to give mr sunshine a try to decide where I stand on the reviews.

Thank you, Oneesama! You are probably the fifth person who recommends Sky Castle! I'm going to move it up my PTWL!…
looking forward to it :D

ok I totally love this one! the examples are all varied and really well researched. if u would like to consider another drama id totally suggest sky castle bc it is filled with motifs and gestures (especially hand gestures), character arrangement, mirrors and many other things. id love to see your take on that ;)

adultery, you live in a country in wich the word "adultery" has legal weigh? wich country you live? mature doesn't…
oh yea you're not wrong. adultery is like a higher degree of it like if they have physical relations. infidelity is cheating but without fooling around. had to look up the definitions lol
btw Saudi Arabia's adultery laws aren't applied anymore as far as I know. pretty sure the stoning thing was mentioned few years back in the newspapers about iran. and it wasn't adultery. the punishment is for both involved not just the woman.

im pretty sure adultery has become a void law in all countries. even in Somalia and iran it's not necessarily applied that much (it's mostly abused tho...they could use the law to punish someone wrongfully but that's a government issue). im pretty sure most of America still has their adultery laws. but it's either not applied or it's illegal but misdemeanor level illegal. it's mostly left there in divorce appeals to be a valid reason. but other than that it's a thing but very insignificant

age gap couples are totally cool and can bring a fresh new perspective but the fact that 2 of the examples u used to promote it involves an adult dating a highschool student (ie minor *police sirens*) made more ironic by the fact that one adult is a lawyer and the other a teacher, two very honorable positions of guidance that they are totally neglecting by that.
*game sanaeha spoiler alert* and also the game sanaeha (khun vi and wongwet are otp uwu) but khae's motivation for marrying khun thawat is literally for his money (at first) not bc of the reasons you stated. ofc later they go through a lot together and those experiences bring them together.
my mister and encounter are probably the best examples of a realistic age gap couple that you could ever find. I don't even like the genre that much but honestly I loved encounter since unlike most age gap romances, the age gap wasn't used for slapstick (ofc if someone prefers the age gap being used as joke material that is totally fine...just what I think ;p)

tl;dr you're heart's in the right place but the examples are too romanticized and selfserving to make sense

I don't think they'll be getting better anytime lol (tho I sincerely hope they do) but at least they bring all these issues to light when no other show does. but both the good and bad of it just cancels out lmao

hello counselor as a whole is a good show but one that gives terrible advice but that's where i found out about a lot of these issues. from migrant workers to people of Korean-African descent and strict beauty standards etc. America is mostly the only one with an entertainment scene so politically charged as far as i know. mostly due to pressure from audiences. that's something korea still struggles with as of yet even tho their minorities make up a significant part of the country even if it's small. it's not as bad as the whole majoritarianism bs that happened in sri lanka in the '80s but not exactly ideal considering how much discrimination they face due to their race, religion, etc. i think i remember this muslim Korean lady on the show who spoke out about her struggles. as always the response from the 'counselors' were terrible and they played it off but it's pretty terrible once u think about it. that show has me in two minds bc on one hand it introduces the many different sides of korea and educates but also gives a terrible message by downplaying huge problems in the name of diplomacy. oof this got too long lol

ikr! but they rarely address any hint of the racial discrimination in korea in kdramas ever. it only becomes evident when u watch reality shows. gives a bit of a glimpse at how unaddressed the discrimination against minorities is

oh shit I need this so badly now! this is the first time ive agreed with both a remake and the casting, damn this is the dream....b99's humor would translate flawlessly to kdramas given their penchant for slice-of-life cop dramas. although it would have to be written in an entirely different way to apply to korea's affairs. but most of all id love to see them tackle racial and lgbt issues in korea. ugh T-T I wish this were true

I thought it was more of an experiment. they were fed infected flesh and maybe to check the effect it would have on their kids. maybe that has something to do with the blood. I don't know for sure tho

hey cool article! and while you're not wrong about the director-writer relationship I think the examples are more of an aesthetic thing. bc those lines that you described are exactly what photographers/directors maintain to get clean shots. even the symmetry. idk how to explain it well but framing it that way, there's a symmetry even in disorder. some lines that you start seeing once u take photographs. wes Anderson's work is the most famous in that. although he went for more of symmetrical-symmetry over asymmetrical-symmetry. Ive typed symmetry so many times the word has now lost all meaning for me lmao oops

I do like the crossing over one tho. that's a fav stylistic choice.

that was a sweet story. we're all a hoe for haku, ill give u that, tho personally the wizard howl hit harder for me. somehow these stories/characters have a way of sticking in your memory. becomes a part of you and yknow im glad

birdbox IS pretty similar to a lot of Korean thrillers in terms of execution and choice of plot developments. that's pretty good casting. I think if they ever do remake it, the plot would have more of a focus on the psychological aspect that is more favorable to Korean audiences as compared to the psychological thriller nature of the movie falling flat on American audiences with most complaining about how the 'antagonist' wasn't good and they wanted monsters like in a quiet place etc
