Joy of Life season 2 is a continuation from Season 1, a sequel that we have all been waiting for five years to watch. The bad thing about this is it has a third season with no definitive date of airing. I debated back and forth on whether to watch the whole thing after Season 3 is out, but what the heck, I can't wait that long :) Fan Xian is one of my favorite in this series, but I have to acknowledge the characters and acting of the more senior actors. Season 1 put a lot of focus on character introduction and development, while season 2 delves deeper into the plot. Looking forward to what Season 3 brings (Marcus Sim just said Tencent confirmed Joy of Life 3 :)). Was this review helpful to you?

A different kind of xian xia
This feels different to me than other xian xia dramas that I've seen. The story is okay for me, but I really like the chemistry between the ML and FL as well as the 2nd ML and FL. Acting wise, Chen Xing Xu and Li Landi did well in portraying their character. Chen Xing Xu plays different character with different emotions and I think he can really act and not just a pretty face :) The middle part towards the end gets a bit boring, which is normal for a drama series, but with this it doesn't really bother me a lot. The various side story for the side characters are interesting to watch too, so it's fine. The drama is funny too, so it's not all serious. And the OST is excellent.. I would definitely rewatch this if I have time. Was this review helpful to you?

Hard work, perseverance and luck
This is a good workplace drama. Some (or maybe all) of the characters felt real. You may have met these characters in your office or heard your friends talk about them in theirs. There are some who make you want to scream at the screen in frustration because you also have encountered such person in your life. I thought the actors all did well. They did with real situations and circumstances in the workplace. They cover issues in discrimination, such as shown by the only female interns and new employee in the office. The drama shows that hardwork and experience alone can only get you as far. Everyone needs a little luck on their side. The drama also shows what it takes to be a good manager to the subordinate as well as the value of good team work. I really really like the three actors' acting in Integrated Team IV. Bai Jing Ting, as always, played the part of an inexperienced and not properly educated rookie, placed in the wrong place. I thought he did very well. My favorite character however is Manager Lin. He shows kindness and compassion from the start. A good boss and colleague. I really like his character. If you're into real workplace drama that has minimal romance, I would recommend this. As always, with the number of episodes, the drama can get long, but for me, the acting of the actors alone is worth it.Was this review helpful to you?

I was excited to watch this drama. I thought this would be one that I have a hard time moving on from and the FL and ML would be favorite TV couple. I figured, since a lot of people like this drama, it can't be that bad, can it? WRONG. Maybe people have different taste, but this is just okay for me. Nothing to brag about or write to my friends to immediately watch this drama. Well, to be fair, this drama is not all bad. There are some good things about it, for example the music. I love the music, especially the ending theme song of the first half. The story had premise, but I thought it was just not executed well. It started out good, but there is so many loopholes. (SPOILER ALERT: The main loophole is the last episode. How can they have a daughter at the end? When Sang Wu Yan was brought to the hospital, her tummy was FLAT! Even if the baby was prematurely born, her tummy can't be that flat for > 6 months pregnant! That is puzzling. I was hoping for a plot twist at the end, when she said goodbye. I thought she didn't survive and it was all just a dream. I would have given a higher score if that is the case haha). The positive side is, this drama has very minimal conflict, but to me it can be boring. If you're just looking for an easy watch with no conflict and simple romance story, then you would be happy with this drama. As for me, I don't like it. Was this review helpful to you?

A love across universe
This a monstrous (by today's standard) 59 episode xian xia. In my opinion, it can definitely be shortened to 40 (the norm episode numbers today) and would have gotten a higher rating for me. I think this is a good drama, with good storyline and interesting characters. My first time watching both Cheng Yi and Crystal Yuan. I thought Cheng Yi is a good actor and played his role well. He can show the emotion that the complicated Si Feng faces. Crystal, on the other hand, is just so so and her character her is in the border of annoying for me. Like the majority of Chinese Xian Xia dramas, the "white" or "good" clan is not necessarily the good guys. They are hypocrites and act like a saint, whilst not necessary good. The evil clan in the end sometimes can be the good guys. Overall, i enjoy watching this drama, although i do tend to loose focus on some parts. Was this review helpful to you?

heartwarming story
i watched this with low to no expectation at all. i was just looking for something light with fewer episodes. I made the right choice. This is a good one. storywise it's quite interesting and different (what if you can meet your mom when she was young and learn what she's like and befriens her?) Acting is pretty good too. the characters are interesting. i would've give it a higher rating if not for the college years and a few new, annoying and unimportant character. if you're looking for something like and heartwarming without too much focus on the romance side, i would recommend this oneWas this review helpful to you?

not worth your time
The first two episodes were good. Guo Jin Fei's character is the unluckiest person alive. In addition to being diagnosed with a terminal illness, he has an unhappy marriage, boss from hell and bad workplace. So he thought he has nothing to lose and started to act irrationally. I thought this drama explores relationships and his life journey after being diagnosed. But it's not what i expected. The show quickly went downhill after ep. 6. i don't enjoy the USB story of thd drama. This is messy in my opinion. Was this review helpful to you?
