Just released opening song of The Miracle of Teddy Bear. I guess I know what drew me to this series just like Bad Buddy.
Too early to tell the full plot, but...
Unrequited high school love... check
Great soundtrack and music... check (If Bad Buddy's music isn't amazing, we won't have deetsy and many others spending countless hours compiling the music)
Wonderful cinematography... check
Lovey dovey and sweet intro scene... check (parallel to Bad Buddy's credit scenes, still remember?)
Cute dimples... check (I'm not really into dimples, but who can forget Pran's dimples?)
I think the runtime is a lil too long but the cast is good and the story is interesting and funny . Nut is beaut…
Actually I like the long runtime. It gives a lot of time to flesh out the characters and the story. Nut has a lot of backstory to tell. His character is like that likely because of past trauma. Likely related to his high school time and first love.
We'll see more of the reasons and how his character develops in the next 15 episodes.
There is one scene that I feel project the feelings of the screenwriter and director of this series in EP 1. This has very minimal spoilers.
Nut's boss want him to make a new story (he's a screenwriter). Then Gen, his best friend, said that it wasn't that his work is not good. It's good, but it's something new for the company, and they are afraid and not sure of how it will turn out.
The Miracle of Teddy Bear is Channel 3's first foray into BL/LGBT series. As a renowned TV channel in Thailand (#2 after Channel 7 by popularity), it has been well known for a lot of lakorns, but never made any BL series before. Any earlier BL series shown on Channel 3 were made by other production companies. This is Channel 3's first own-made production.
And I am not disappointed at all with just the first episode (still too early to tell the overall quality, but I hope for even better later episodes)

What I like about The Miracle of Teddy Bear is the quality of the production, the story, the acting and the soundtrack (miracles do happen with Channel 3's power). The two main leads are very good-looking too (for me, and Tee Thanapon was the original Beam from 2Moons, my favourite among the leads there)
The story is very intriguing, and with 1 hour 30 minutes per episode (plus 16 episodes) there are a lot of time to flesh out the story, the characters and all. 1 episode alone had given me a lot of insight to the story.
First of all, the characters.
The Teddy Bear, Tofu's human form has the same face as Anont Tanakul, Nut's (the other main lead) first love from the high school time (10 years prior to present). More of their story will be revealed later on, but from EP 1 alone I can tell that, the teddy bear was a gift from Anont to Nut (whom he always called P'Neung).
My guess is this. Something happened to Neung (Anont). He might have died, and the defibrillator shown in the episode was the moment they tried to revive him. This could have happened at the present day, but I guess it was more likely 10 years ago, when Nut cried while holding Tofu the teddy bear.
Now, going on to the second couple, Gen and Aneung Tanakul. This detail might have been easily missed if not for the nurse calling Aneung's name (he is played by Tee Thanapon). Aneung Tanakul and Anont Tanakul share the same surname. So it's quite obvious that highly likely he is Anont's younger brother (based on the age difference). Gen and Nut are probably already about 26-27 years old (Gen himself said that he's 27). Aneung might have been in his early 20s (university?)
It's like fate bringing the two brothers together. The younger brother end up with Gen, Nut's best friend, while I think somehow Anont has some sort of soul transmigration to Tofu the teddy bear (just my speculation - I think in the upcoming episodes, Anont's memories may come to surface as well, and merge with Tofu's. After all Tofu is likely Anont's gift to Nut. They share their memories, of their first love).
This is just some of the thoughts I had making links between the hints and flashbacks. Very intriguing story, and I am looking forward to more. With three episodes released per week, it won't be long for me to get my answers ):)
