This is a fresh drama for me as i generally don't watch wuxia and fantasy. I liked how the two FL are assassins and kind of capable and badass. BUT UNFORTUNATELY i didn't like the main couple, i didn't feel anything watching them and i skipped their scenes in last eps, but the chemistry between second leads were exactly my cup of thing. I waited for their scenes every eps lol. Also i was always team Gong Shangjue from ep 1 to last. I didn't like power up kind of things that they tried to convince ML is better. I also DIDN'T LIKE the ending. This drama has flaws I admit it, but overall it was a good experience, i liked the dark atmosphere. but if you want a solid answer to your questions and a solid final this won't be your thing.
I wasn't able to finish PoB tbh. I stopped on episode 17/18 and couldn't bring myself to finish. But I'm watching…
Okeyy i also enjoy enemies to lovers trope a lot, it is on mu watch list, maybe i will also start it after i clean some of my watchlist lol. Rn im watching my journey to you:))

Yea it is understandable, i also passed some scenes. Sometimes when u can't convince ur brain, ur heart also leaves the screen 😂 They recommend fated hearts a lot, in what aspects do u guys recommend that show? Is it realistic, logical, conveys feelings right way, less misunderstanding and please tell me it is not just a lovey dovey, i need things to get serious. If u have more recommendations im listening😁
I really liked the communication between main leads and their dialogues. And it was really nice to see their relationship develop over time.It wasn't love at first sight and they didn't actually trust each other until the half of drama. So it made their relationship deeper and realistic. BUT i can't say it for the rest of the drama. The other characters and most of the plot weren't deep in my opinion. I think it's a general problem for chinese dramas, they don't make it convincing. They say it is gonna happen like it, reason is this, believe and feel it, move to next scene. So i wouldn't rate it this high but considering the pool, it is one of the good ones for sure, i also enjoyed the cinematography. I knew the male lead but i watched first time the female lead, i liked her acting and relay of emotions 🤩
11 years later and here I am again. I wish they will start doing dramas like this again. Empress ki is the last…
yea same, it is almost 10 years for me as well. It has a big place in my heart. Also we have the same pp lol ( i have it from the moment i enrolled this app lol )
For the ones watching from Youtube, the ending is not translated. I found from another website
According to historical records: In the ninth year of the First Emperor's reign, the King of Qin suppressed Lao Ai's rebellion and moved the Empress Dowager to Yong City. The next year, he dismissed Prime Minister Lü Buwei. When Mao Jiao of Qi convinced the King of Qin,the King went to Yong City to welcome the Empress Dowager back to Xianyang. As for Marquis Wen Xin, he lived in Henan. (Lü Buwei was later ennobled as Marquis Wen Xin)For his remaining years, he was filled with anxiety and fearful of being put to death, and became an alcoholic which led to his eventual death. In the nineteenth year of the First Emperor's reign, the Empress Dowager passed away. She was conferred the posthumous title of Imperial Empress Mother. She was buried together with King Zhuangxiang in Zhiyang.
Just finished watching this classic historical cdrama a 2nd time. Enjoyed the drama but asking if a helpful viewer…

The annoying thing is they always put the watcher in a position of a stupid person as they say something and want us to believe it without thinking, most Chinese dramas are like this. They say 'it is like this' and everyone is 'yeah yeah , true true' even if it makes zero sense... Cus of it first half of the drama was hard to watch sometimes. After getting used to it, u slowly bond with characters.
Actually i couldn't bring myself to hate any of the female characters whatever villain or not. Cuz i could understand them. I appreciate the intension but execution was kinda poor. Characters were deep but they couldn't present it well, espicially Princess Ya of Zhou, she actually is a very interesting character. Queen Zhao also catch my attention. I liked how there wasn't even one 'white' character. All of them are gray, just the shades are different, including our main leads. Three of them has ambitions and can do some not very pure things for that. But what did they gain is questionable. Their loses was more and that makes it realistic in some way. Qin arc is a lot different and more logical than Zhao Arc i think. But even if the caharacters didn't die, they were not the same ones inside. I couldn't look , love and hate the same way.
Btw, warning, this is not a soft drama and there are plenty deaths so be aware. And i wouldn's say it is romantic as well. Ending also kinda realistic. As someone who really enjoys female leads taking control, gaining political power etc when watching this, instead of dreaming myself with that power i prefered for it to be a countyside life of a farmer. So this doesn't have the satisfacory elements of women power/rank rising like in Empress Ki, couldn't feel the victory. This one was more of a suffering i believe.
Overall! Not a perfect one maybe but seeing some shty ones getting rated so high i believe this deserves more. For the ones hesitating, it is worth to give it a try. Even if just for the excellent costumes and cinematography u shall try it. Sometimes acting is more like u are in the theatre but not that bad, Lu Bu Wei 's acting felt better among them. Talked a lot and hope didnt spoil much lol.
So i watched the first part, i kind of enjoyed it. Cinemtography was nice and there were moments that felt like real. I espicially enjoyed the family, mother daughter moments which were realistic. Also FL's romantic situations were interesting yet understandable. Still im not so sure to continue. What will they focus on this season? Will the FL continue to be smart? Were u guys satisfied with this part 2? Does FL gets disappointed with ML?
I watched 4 episodes and the FL is so childish and is already annoying me. Does she have a character development…
She and her family will continue to be annoying for awhile but dont worry they have character development and they kind of grow on you. I hated the show at first and now im here for it every year lol.
About 15 eps is about charactes' past and main roles' childhood. I think it is too much as the drama itself total 39 eps. Even though it grow on me and wasn't that boring, most will find it irritating. Characters weren't superficial but complex. You could come to reasons with 'villains'. Most of the characters were gray which i enjoyed. But to be honest first half of the drama was better and more realistic. I liked the dialogs, they were relative to human nature. The 'villains' Queen Ja Sil and Goguryo Queen was interesting, i even liked them at some point, espicially Goguryo queen. But it got boring and unreasonable in second half. Characters begin to contradict with themselves and they put so much religious bullshit. Ofc there were plotholes like in most dramas and sometimes they just made us 'it happened like that, that's natural, accept it' and i don't like this type of logic. Also fight scenes and sound effects were kind of funny but it is an old drama so i won't say much. In the MDL criteria. rating deserves a bit more but not much.
I forgat to mention musics. I only liked the instrumental ones. The endind is worst i think. Episode ends with someone dead and the song starts with saranghae is such a mood killer.
If you want to watch a cdrama about a smart FL, look no further at Princess Weiyoung! Some of the villains are…
I watched it years ago. I loved it at that time but now it is a bit cringe. I liked the series cuz she was smart and badass. Then i found the novel and read some of it. In Novel she is more cruel and main lead was different, but it was really nice as i remember, i recommend it 🤌🏼🤌🏼
I want to rewatch it but somehow i can't bring myself to it. It has been several years but that specific song still is on my mind and i find myself humming it from time to time. Nowadays dramas have more cinematography but i can't find soul in them. They had more plotholes but i could feel more. Wonder what changed the most, people...times...me??
