Its often a case for popular cdramas, once they get popular airing schedule is revised to 1 ep per day. As for the reason I think it is exactly what you said people get frustrated can't wait for the express and in desperation more people buy the express when it arrives. This is just my theory

In beginning it was sure for safety reasons and he wanted to stay undercover for his mission. But him not disclosing it even after she met him in the army camp might be because he thinks she might hesitate to accept his status so he wants to take it slow, also he has already lied so much about everything and she believed him so he must be finding it difficult to say that he has been deceiving her, its like breaking her trust and she clearly cares too much about him so he must be feeling bad about lying
