It is impossible to mess up the contract marriage trope.
It is impossible to mess up the contract marriage trope, even if you're someone like Yae, once you find someone like Takumi.
This is the first time I've seen a male lead this funny. The actor really nailed the expressions. Takumi's character is really loveable. He waited for her and even accepted the fact that he may not be the right one for her. Once things got too unclear, he was ready to take a step back just for her happiness.
On the other hand, Yae...Although I loved Yae, she was finding unique ways to sabotage her own love story. Yae is too selfless, an extremist, so to speak. Selfless people do exist, but Yae sacrifices herself for people she barely has any genuine connections with.
In the later part of the show, Yae realizes she has feelings for Takumi, but when his ex reappears, someone whose existence she barely acknowledged shows up to contest her, she caves! Under the slightest pressure. I was genuinely angered. It was too unrealistic; humans are selfish for at least one thing. Why would she feel the need to give up her jackpot so easily? Nevertheless, I'm glad they ended up together happily.
My only other complaint is that this drama was way too short. I wish we had a season two with more skinship. What a waste of chemistry, daylight robbery.
