It's not like he has a choice, but I'm glad he's making an effort to make the cut.

I love hearing him speak (and sing in) Cantonese.

From what I've read, Xu Kai grew up in a region that speaks Cantonese, so he speaks Mandarin with a Cantonese accent, not good enough for costume dramas. Hell, he was even dubbed in his first modern drama, Falling Into Your Smile.😑

We should hear him in Fire Investigator and 800 Meters.🎉

I hear you. Legend of Zang Hai is ML oriented. Fangs of Fortune and The Untamed have predominantly male chaeacters as well.

For me, it's not really a concern as American programming continues to focus on men, but I could see it being repetitive to some.

I just want as much Xu Kai as I can get. Two of his upcoming projects will focus on his character (I hope).
