Ok, so Taeri is not Sang-ah and So-woo's biological son. He might be adopted since Sang-ah is infertile. No wonder Sang-ah doesn't show any maternity love at all to him.
We can only see the back of his face, but the side can be seen a bit. It seems that Richard Han is Yujin's dad and chairwoman Shin's husband. The question is, why does he want to destroy his wife's company by engaging Ji-Seok? I don't understand.
Episode 15 gives more hints about what happened to Yujin/Duna, she was (presumably) dead due to a car accident when Eun-Chong was still one year old. It seems that the car accident might have been caused by, or may have had some involvement with Se Yeong and her mom. Another question: could Se Yeong (or her mom) have found out then that Duna is Yujin, and tried to get rid of her?
More info was revealed, but it brings up more questions!
She is not.Chairman Shim's real daughter is Yujin/Duna, Eunchong's mom, Hana's best friend. Eunchong is now being…
this is what i understand:
hana: - lost parents when she was young (the parents are unknown) - went to the orphanage - got adopted by the mean family with abusive mom, who treated hana as a maid instead of a daughter. - the abusive mom got caught in the abuse act (with the help from jin goo at the hospital. jin goo and hana had some encounters at the hospital when they were young, jin goo was having some kind of heart surgery. - hana was sent back to orphanage - became best friend with yujin/duna at the orphanage - still keep in touch with duna even though she was adopted and moved to the US
yujin: - chairman shin's daughter. se yeong's cousin. - her father (chairman shin's husband) took her and se yeong to an island (presumably for holiday). - yujin went missing at the port while playing with se yeong and yujin's dad was buying the boat tickets. she was unconscious in a basement of a boat, and the boat departed. se yeong lied to yujin's dad saying that she didn't see her. - yujin woke up finding herself in a boat sailing somewhere with the boatman. - the boat was caught by storm, and presumably capsized or sunk. the boatman died, but yujin's body was never found. - yujin miraculously survived, suferring from amnesia, misidentified and sent to the orphanage. - yujin met hana at the orphanage. she took the name duna and becoming best friends with hana. - yujin got adopted, the family moved to the US. hana still kept in touch with yujin even after she moved to the US.
during the time-skip (off screen):
- yujin had a son (eunchong). not too sure if she was married or not, and not too sure who was the father. - yujin and the family, including eunchong, involved in a car accident. only eunchong survived, yujin and her adopted family were presumably dead. - eunchong became an orphan, and hana took him and raised him.
that surprised me as well to be honest, it’s also a bit weird that his own blood-related siblings also works…
It's a different company (albeit a subsidiary, same group). Ji-eun (Ji-seok's biological younger sister) works in Hyesung Hotel, while Hana works in Hyesung Tour. Ji-seok wants to destroy Hyesung Tour first.
I left on episode 3, y'all still hanging in there?
Yes we are still hanging in here. :)
You left when the lead characters were still children. It's getting better when they are adults (episode 5-6 onwards), although the child actors are really awesome.
if hana is her real daughter [ chairman ] ... this will make a great difference in the drama !!! , or she is not…
She is not.
Chairman Shim's real daughter is Yujin/Duna, Eunchong's mom, Hana's best friend. Eunchong is now being raised by Hana after Yujin/Duna has (supposedly) passed away.
Eunchong is Chairman Shim's biological grandson but both of them are not related to Hana by blood.
Unless if there are further plot twists that I do not know of.
It's been implied that she passed away, a lot of things happen behind the scene for her character idk why
In addition:
In the last episode 14, there is a photo of adult Duna/Yujin and adult Hana together. So they kept in touch until they are adults even though Duna lived in the US. They might be best friends, and when there's something happened to Duna and her family, it makes sense that Hana took the initative to take Eunchong and raised him.
I suspect Duna, her adoptive parents and Eunchong might have been involved in a car accident (as per the synopsis), and only Eunchong survived.
I am at episode 13 now. My tears fall seeing Dora come to Pil Seung's house, and kneel down in front of Pil Seung's mom, to apologise on behalf of her mom for causing the death of her father (Pil Seung's grandfather).
It's not Dora's fault actually, it's her mom's fault. Dora didn't deserve this. Pil Seung didn't deserve this.
Anyway, I agree with @Knoob that this drama is so toxic. There are more bad people than the good people. The only good and lovable people in this drama are Pil Seung, Dora, Mari, and maybe Mari's dad (the APP group chairman).
The rest are really toxic people. Dora's mom, Pil Seung's grandmother, Mari's grand-aunt, Ae Kyo and his son Jin Dan, among others.
Pil Seung's mom and Mari's mom (Pil Seung's biological mom) are OK, but it's very hard to like them. Both of them are just unlikeable characters. Same with Pil Seung's aunt and Dora's brother who had an "accident" relationship, it's very hard to root for them.
she thinks his husband doesn't know about her real father.
Yes but eventually she knows and her husband moved her father to another (better) nursing home. But yet at the new facility, she still talks to her father.
Special congratulations to Yuna who won the Best Youth Actress Award for her performance as Jae-hui. It's her third award after APAN and Baeksang.
Poor Taeri.

"OK, forget about me. Don't you care about Jihyun (their daughter)?"
Spot on! Good question!
Hello, Dad! Don't you have any paternal feelings at all towards your own daughter?
I am sick of married people who prioritise their affairs over their own children. OMG, my blood is boiling!
just kidding :)
