Feels like an epic drama, great cinematography and good performance of the cast especially Yuna and Minha. Plot and storyline is a bit confusing with switching between the past and present, tbh I prefer the past storyline better than the present one. Need some concentration in watching it otherwise you'll get lost and won't understand the plot. Ending is "hanging" because I understand the story has not ended and will continue in the second season. Overall an epic and great drama.
Great cast, I love Kim So-hyun and Park Da-yeon. The plot and storyline are weak, a lot of things didn't make sense like how the soldiers who have been divided can be easily united when the presumed dead king made a comeback. How a king can easily do an undercover walk almost every evening without being noticed. While the ending is "happy" it feels like being forced with no "connection" to the earlier political and fighting scenes.
Great story, great acting especially the mute ML and the kidnapped FL -- both the actor and the child actress…
Another disturbing scene is when the kidnapped FL is being sent to the child trafficker, who gave her some kind of (alcoholic?) drink to make the child dizzy.
Also the scenes where the policewoman was being buried without being checked if she's still alive or not, in front of the two girls! So scary.
Great story, great acting especially the mute ML and the kidnapped FL -- both the actor and the child actress are awesome! Some of the scenes are a bit troubling though, with a child that young having to witness people being tortured/killed and being cleaned up / buried. Why do they need to bring the kidnapped girl to work while they can leave the little sister at home unsupervised?
The ending could be better though, there was no full closure and it's being kept hanging. What happened to the ML, did eventually the police catch him? Who will care for the little sister if the brother is in jail? Is the kidnapped FL back to her family (who seem to prefer their son instead of the daughter)?
If we manage our expectations, this movie is quite fun to watch. Yes, this is far inferior compared to Train to Busan, but the first movie is a magnificent film so it's very difficult to compete anyway.
The zombies are not as scary as the first movie, true, that's good for me since I don't like horror movies lol. This is more like an action film genre rather than horror. I specifically love the car chase, and how the eldest daughter masters the car's control and manoeuvre to outrun the chasers as well as the zombies around.
The ending is quite awkward, how the mother initially intended to kill herself so that the helicopter wouldn't wait for her, and how the male lead eventually decided to save the mother at the last minute... with the UN peacekeepers doing nothing also until the last minute... seriously? :D
The first part and the last part of the movie are supposed to be emotional, but I don't feel the emotions in both scenes. If the movie was trying to do that, then it failed. But the action parts actually deliver, as an action movie, this film is actually quite fun to watch.
I haven't read the webtoon so my opinion might be a bit biased (or neutral depending on how you see it).
I love the first episode. Thanks to the stellar acting of the young actors, namely Park So-Yi, Kim Si-A and Jung Hyeon-Jun. They are carrying the show in the first episode. The story is also moving quite fast and I enjoyed it very much, up to the first few episodes.
After this, the plot started to slow down and the story was a bit dragged. The FL (Shin Hye-Sun) is great but the ML is not on the same level. Despite several hints, it took around 4-5 episodes for her sister (the SFL) to know, and 8-9 episodes for the ML to know, about the FL's past lives. A bit draggy towards the end.
Nevertheless, I love the uniqueness and the originality of the story, and the overall acting of the actors especially the young actors. Certain scenes indeed made me cry, not gonna lie. I also like the OST -- the song called "Star" (I think) and the piano piece (that was supposed to be composed by the FL on one of her past lives) are amazing.
Tbh, very confusing. So Jae-Young is Hyung-In's daughter? And the lady ghost is Se-Yoon? And what skill/technique is being used by Kyung-Ho to create such hallucination and the ghost?
I watch this drama because of my two favourite former child actresses -- Lee Re and Heo Jung Eun, and I love them in the first episode of this drama! I miss So Won (Hope) and Geumbi lol. I am also a big fan of veteran actress Kim Hae Sook, pleasantly surprised and glad to see her in this drama as well!
Continuing to the next episodes and now at episode 3, wondering if I should continue watching... the "business" topic of the drama is not my cup of tea...
Just finished watching the drama up to episode 16, I was 7 years late. The last episode broke my heart, especially when Geum-Bi is on the near-death experience, with Death and Mr. Fox, and with little aunt Jun Hee advising her how to go back so she can still spend more time with her Dad and Mom.
Very good drama, with a very good performance by Heo Jung-Eun. I can't get enough of her acting performance, her facial expressions especially her eyes. She was only 9 years old during filming, how a 9-year-old girl put up such a good acting performance baffles me. Other than Jung-Eun -- Oh Ji-Ho, Park Jin-Hee and Oh Yoon-Ah's performances also help to carry the show.
The drama mainly reflects the life of the FL (Geum-Bi, portrayed by Jung-Eun), who was being abandoned by her aunt after being diagnosed with the Niemann-Pick disease type (NPC) and had to look for her dad who's serving time in jail. Eventually, the FL crosses paths with many other not-so-good and bad people, including a lonely woman who lost her youngest sister due to an accident, his dad's friend-turn-enemy, and her alcoholic biological mom -- and the drama beautifully shows how the FL changes all the people around her to be better, making us fall in love with her.
This dominates the first 12 episodes of the show, and then it changes when the FL's disease symptoms start to develop, and the last 2-3 episodes show how the FL fights for her life -- she is determined not to give up easily (despite Death and Mr. Fox encouraging her to go to the bright light at the end of the "forest tunnel" so that she can end all her pain). She still wants to live because she still wants to spend more time with her Dad and Mom.
Overall, this is a must-watch drama. It has a so-called "happy" ending (which is more of the compromise between sad and happy, tbh), a good cast, and a good OST (I love the opera-type chorus song), highly recommended!

(The scenes when our precious Geum Bi begged the doctor not to tell her dad about her disease, afraid that her dad might abandon her if he finds out)
Damn, I am still crying now and I can't stop crying....
