To be frank this is so intense that they can’t get away with a boring ending. My bet is on a shock for the audience. What will it look like? No idea, but will be hefty.

Well, the prerogative of a fiction and fantasy drama is to make up anything it wants for the audience.
Considering the strong emotional roller coaster this drama rides on, I wouldn’t be surprised if the ending will be even shocking. I don’t know what to think or expect.
I do hope indeed that the character Tantai Jin will make its own choice (and then the viewers will need to be able to digest it, especially if not good; don’t dare to say even).

I feel you. I think many will have serious withdrawal symptoms and will be unable to move on for some weeks ( been there / am there due to a drama that ended like a month and a half ago). 😊🥲
