I watched up to episode 24 and then dropped the drama. But I couldn’t hold back my curiosity, so I ended up watching the last five episodes. The final episodes were actually good, but the middle part of the drama felt boring and dragged. Overall, it’s a decent drama. I was disappointed with Wu Shiguang’s screen time, but that doesn’t mean I’m a hater of Ju Jingyi or Tian Jiarui. I’ve watched almost all of Ju Jingyi’s dramas. It’s just that one of my favorite actors is in this drama, so my disappointment is completely natural.
I started watching this drama because of Wu Shiguang, but the way his character was handled is honestly disappointing. Wu Shiguang is the Tenth Dragon, which means the power and throne of the Dragon Deity should rightfully belong to him. As the Tenth Dragon, he should have been the one to inherit that role. Instead, the entire story revolves around Ji Ling and Lu Wuyi. Somehow, they are portrayed as more powerful than the Tenth Dragon himself, taking on responsibilities and abilities that should have been Wu Shiguang’s. He was supposed to receive the final Dragon Deity power from Han Ba and use it to bring rain, saving the mortal world from drought. But the story completely sidelines this arc. Rather than fulfilling that duty, Lu Wuyi prioritizes saving Ji Ling, while the suffering of the mortal world is largely ignored. What feels most unfair, however, is the extreme imbalance in screen time. Zheng Shunxi and Chen Duling were promoted as main leads and the second couple, yet their screen time was limited from the very beginning—and after episode 23, it drops to barely 2–3 minutes. If the drama was always meant to focus on Lu Wuyi and Ji Ling, then it should have been presented that way from the start. Promoting Zheng Shunxi and Chen Duling as main leads without giving them proper screen time feels misleading and unfair to fans. At this point, Wu Shiguang’s character feels almost unnecessary. If Lu Wuyi and Ji Ling can solve every major conflict and even wield the Dragon Deity’s power themselves, then what was the purpose of introducing the Tenth Dragon at all? If they were only going to be treated as supporting characters, they should have been introduced as such. Marketing them as main leads just to attract viewers feels deceptive—and honestly, it makes me feel like my time was wasted.
welcome back ! i though you dropped this like yesterday and the day before that 😹

“Dropped. I’m not going to watch it anymore 😞 I’m totally disappointed with the drama. It feels like JZ and CDL are just in supporting roles or making cameo appearances.”
💀they had a lot a few episodes ago. Zeng Shunxi and Chen Duling have been in another drama before. I forgot…
Are you talking about Lonely hero's journey? I already watched that drama. But I am really disappointed with this drama cuz Zheng shunxi and Chen duiling “They have even less screen time than the supporting actors.”
